List your best/worst experience at a game...

Whew, what a tough chore this is trying to narrow it down. I'll start with my five worst games:

1. 2004 AFCCG vs. the Pats*---Freezing cold, sucky game, my dad and I were going to the Super Bowl if they won, no further explanation

2. 1997 season opener vs. Dallas---smoking hot, scalped tickets at 8 am cuz I am an idiot and the worst scalper EVER, lost 37-7

3. 2005 vs Cincy---basically watched Cincy clinch the AFCN on my turf. TJ Dousch shines his shoes w/Terrible Towel, nearly got kicked out for screaming obscenities at a guy on the field cheering for the Bungles, but not wearing any Bungle stuff. That just annoyed me and I let him know that... ...in so many ways. The Heinz security kicked my buddy out and I was told to step back off the rail, so I did, for one series.

4. 2001 AFCCG vs. The Pats*---I hate Cheryl Crow to this day because she sang that stupid Soak up the Sun song in my end zone at halftime. Once again, my dad and I were going to New Orleans if they won. He spent the week prior to the SB teaching me to play craps. Needless to say, I never had the chance.

5. The only win in my worst 5. 1997 Sunday Nighter vs. Indy. I only include this because I got completely hammered, threw myself and my buddy down 5 rows of Three Rivers Stadium seats toppling over plenty of people. Didn't get kicked out though. I didn't want to be "that guy." Unfortunately, that night, I was indeed, "that guy."

I'll post my top W's later. Gotta do some more reminiscing.

Once again, my dad and I were going to New Orleans if they won. He spent the week prior to the SB teaching me to play craps. Needless to say, I never had the chance.

I remember thinking two things:

1) The AFCCG is not a vehicle for album promotion.
2) Soaking Up the Sun is not an appropriate song for 15 degree weather.

I will always hate that song.

Jig, the worst thing about that F'in song is it was like 50 degrees that day and SUNNY! I hate her!

Best:

No question, SBXL in Detroit. We sent in our money for the season-ticket holder Super Bowl lottery every year that we had home field throughout the playoffs with home games in the AFC Championship game and were never chosen. When do we get picked? The year we sneak into the playoffs as the 6th seed wildcard and must play the top 3 seeds in the conference on the road. I was disappointed that we did not get the chance to attend a home playoff game that year at first, but when we found out that attending the ultimate playoff game was a possibility...words couldn't describe the feelings we had sitting and home watching the AFC Championship game against the Broncos, knowing that if they won not only would the Steelers be going to the Super Bowl, but so would I. Normally, our drive from the Scranton area to Pittsburgh is just over 5 hours, and since the drive to Detroit was roughly 8.5 hours, we took the car (remember, gas cost about half as much then...it took slightly over 11 hours, though, because it started snowing as we drove through Ohio and into Michigan). There were no hotels available in the greater Detroit area, so we had to stay in Ann Arbor. After running around downtown Detroit like crazed lunatics after the game, we finally settled down near our hotel at an all night greasy spoon place on the University of Michigan campus (we couldn't find anything else open in the middle of the night) and my Dad and I just reminisced about the game and the whole experiences over a pizza and a couple of milkshakes.

Honorable mention:
Most fun playoff game at Heinz: The comeback vs. Cleveland in which Fuamatu-Ma'Afala wins it at the end with a draw play for a TD. My wife bought one of those T-shirts that said "One Bad Ma'Afala!"

Most fun regular season game at Heinz: The snow game against the Bears in which Bettis ran over over 100 yards in the second half, starting the march toward SBXL. In the end, we could not have been more wet and cold or more satisfied. Great stuff.

Worst:
Home AFC Championship games. Nothing more needs to be said.

so hard to narrow it down BUT like ruthlessburger the best game was SB XL. 3 days of party (i was staying in a girls dorm at Wayne State univ) followed by a world championship. My brother scored tix to the Maxim pre-game SB party. Hands down the greatest weekend of my life (wedding didn't even come close.......sorry hun).

Worst game was the Chargers AFCCG. stan humphries????? you gotta be friggin kidding me. arrrrghhh!!!!!!!

the playoff comback win agains the browns also ranks as both worst/best in the same game.
