Roster thoughts

Of note:

1. Starks will be a starter
2. Bloom could make the team
3. Reid and Davenport will be cut
4. Harrison shouldn't move to ILB
5. One of the rookie UDFA DL could make the roster. They need to pick up McFarland.

My thoughts.

Starks won't be a starter.
Bloom will not make the team.
Davenport will be cut. Reid is iffy.
Harrison is in no way an ILB and shouldn't be moved inside.
We will bring in a Veteran DL.

4. Harrison shouldn't move to ILB-For this year...yea but if Davis is half the player I think he will be...Harrison could move inside next season.
5. One of the rookie UDFA DL could make the roster-I agree...I mean look at the competition for the postion...eason?

Nice read, some good thoughts.

I don't agree with everything, but at least he has thought out points. Even though it wasn't a post on here, this has been the big advantage of this board over the trib board. Posters here bring a point to their argument instead of just spouting out a theory with no thought behind it, just to be contrary.

My thoughts.

Starks won't be a starter. Disagree -- I think he has at least a 50-50 shot at being starter
Bloom will not make the team. I tend to agree with this - unless he really makes a dramatic turnaround
Davenport will be cut. Reid is iffy. I agree with this 100%
Harrison is in no way an ILB and shouldn't be moved inside. hmmm. Not sure 'bout this.

1. agreed: smith-colon-hartwig-simmons-starks is what i'd like to see. essex, keomatu, stapleton, mahan provide adequate depth.
2. don't see how bloom makes the roster.
3. dookie is gone due to mendehall being drafted. parker, mendy, moore, and russell. damn...all of a sudden we may have the best depth in the league at TB. reid is kept for returns and as a 6th wr. hines, holmes, sweed, nate, baker, and reid. again, that's some pretty good depth.
4. agreed: let davis get some reps this season a la woodley last season and move silverback inside with timmons next season. give us some farrior-like seasons from a few years back and it'll all be good.
5. WE NEED DL DEPTH...PERIOD. eason is crap. keisel is not starting material. it's a scary thought if depth is going to come from UDFAs. i'm actually more worried about our dline than oline for this upcoming season.

1. if Starks is not a starter, someone in our front office needs to go. How can you justify paying 7 mil a year to a backup OL.

2. I think Bloom has to really blow them away with his return ability in order to make the team. I think he will get his shot, but I have doubts he ends up on the roster.

3. I think Davenport is gone. I'm not sure about Reid. I know he has ability, but it hasn't translated to the NFL. I'm guessing this is his last chance with us.

4. I don't like the idea of moving Harrison to the inside. Why would we move him and take away from his strength? I think Timmons will have an impact on the inside this year.

5. The DL really scares me this year. We didn't do anything to address it. Any injuries and we are screwed at that position.
