OT - Today's Catch

Nice catch indeed. D, it looks still pretty nippy up there. It was a dreadful 82 degrees cold here.

It was a comfortable 104 today and they are anticipating 108 tomorrow . We aren't even in July and August yet which is downright scary.

I used to be stationed smack-dab in the middle of the Mojave Desert...I don't miss your neck of the woods one bit brother.

They keep telling me it's a dry heat which is supposed to make everything O.K.

Man, nothing better than fresh caught fish brought home and fried with fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw. As long as I don't have to clean them.

Man, nothing better than fresh caught fish brought home and fried with fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw. As long as I don't have to clean them.

Bass are a great sport fish and a wonderful species to catch. Unfortunately, the big fish are becoming harder and harder to find. Too many people keeping and eating a fish that in all honesty is not a good eater...especially when they get to 19+ inches in size. Keep the smaller ones if you must. Imo, big bass are to be treasured by many and the CPR (catch, photo, release) program is striving to make sure it stays that way. Nothing sadder than seeing someone with a stringer full of 2 or 3 pound bass. Those creatures have reached the ripe old age of 7+ years and are the prime breeders in any fishery. Such a waste to remove them.

The majority of my bass fishing is large mouth and it's done in farm ponds that don't get fished much. My husband's uncle has an old farm pond and only a few select people are allowed to fish it.
My lake fishing is usually for whatever is biting.
