DANG! This is hard. The stated intention of Tomlin to bring in the youth makes it very hard to predict who will be trade bait, who will be developmental, etc. I can't even say that I have the right amount of guys here.

With the influx of RB's I would think N.D.'s days are numbered.

I have to believe that unless he can block Davenport's days are numbered. Moore is a better receiver out of the backfield. FWP, Mendenhall and Russell are all better runners. Just don't see what he adds.

Not as a rookie who can contribute. He is PS bound in all likelihood.

Okay, here's a first shot...definitely new at this, but my take, for what it's worth...the three defensive ends in green...I believe one of them makes the team, but have no idea which one. I think I've got it down to 53...

Re: 2008 Post-Draft Roster: Who makes it & who doesn't.

Well here is my take on the final roster come the beginning of September:

    QB:
    Roethlisberger
    Batch
    Dixon

    RB:
    FWP
    Mendenhall
    Moore
    Russell

    FB:
    Davis

    WR:
    Ward
    Holmes
    Washington
Sweed (don't see him beating out Nate at least to start with)
    Baker

    TE:
    Miller
    Spaeth
    Dekker

    T:
    M Smith
    Starks
    Colon
    Essex

    G:
    Kemoeatu
    Simmons
    Mahan
Hills (will shift inside for first year)

    C:
    Hartwig
Stapleton (don't see him getting cut after we hung on to him last yr)

    DE:
    A Smith
    Keisel
McFarland (I see him eventually signing)
    McBean (IR due to foot)
    Kirschke

    DT:
    Big Snack
    Hoke

    OLB:
    J Harrison
    Woodley
    Frazier
    A Harrison

    ILB:
    Farrior
    Timmons
    Foote
    Fox
    Humpal

    CB:
    Taylor
    BMac
    Townsend
    Gay
Madison (wish we could bring in another vet here)

    FS:
    Clark
    Mundy

    SS:
    Polamalu
An Smith (I think he is more suited for this position)

    K:
    Reed

    P:
    Sepulveda

    LS:
    Warren

I kept 9 LB's due to special teams, I remember Cowher doing this back in the mid 90's (I think 96), it ended up helping cuz Lloyd blew out his knee in week 1. I would like to see Legursky make a push but I think he will end up on the practice squad. The WR group is really up in the air Rucker, Baker, Reid and Trannon will all be right there at the end. It will really come down to who steps up in camp and shows something. I would love to see another vet corner brought in here to solidify the secondary. Not that it is a concern but I always want more corners. Well thats my take, lets see how it shakes out!
