Yea, it was a typo..... or was it? :lol:
That's about where I'm at. New offense, defense with nagging holes. And a gauntlet of good QBs to get through.
And yet here he is with no contract after this season.
There is some benefit to him being solely a mentor for a young QB, especially at only a million dollars.
Ok. Gotcha. Makes much more sense.
f you honestly believe this report you're basically saying Kahn has gone from one of the smartest GMs to one of the dumbest. Why would Kahn or the Steelers want to extend Wilson without him having...
Another shocker:
This year the Steelers are paying more money to QBs who won't be playing for them than they will for their current QB room.
... the hype that is the Steelers' FA signings:
Except in crunch time... he's been very mediocre. That is the big knock.
And Shanahan drafted one of the worst rated QBs in the draft as well.
See how that works??
A legitimate question is whether the coaching staff is up to the task of developing a young QB. Smith didn't do any miracles in Atlanta. And the Steelers post-Roethliberger haven't inspired...
It goes with the position.
The GM failed to do his job if he took less than what was offered. There may be some spin there in that the pick difference was marginal and they simply went with Fields wishes.
EDIT: also to add...
Sorry, all I got for background info is the link above.
Davis is an interesting name. His first down rates crushed DJ's. I don't know what kind of football shape he is in but under Smith he was good, very good.
Be real interesting to see how the comp picks fall next year after this year's FA. I'm not even sure the Steelers will get something for DJ after signing Wilson and Queen and given all the other high...
Don't know who this dude is but I think I could come up with something similar using a random number generator:

The QB school on Fields:

( it is the Falcons defense so there is that)
You are way overreaching what I am saying.
From a Bears fan;
I think the lack of visible progress by Pickett was a big part of the souring on him. His seeming entitled attitude only sealed the deal. Fields, OTOH, did modestly improve...
Rooney says he wants 'competent' QB play. I think Wilson checks that box at a bargain basement price. And Fields just might be competent enough as well.
Talking out of both sides of your mouth??
The Depot reporting Mike Williams will visit Da Burgh.
Please no! It could be Kahn's (Wiedl's) first slip up. That guy just cannot stay uninjured. Seven years in and he has yet to play of full...
100%. If Kahn took a deal for less than what he was offered for Pickett or DJ this board would be up in flames. And really, it's malfeasance by the GM.
Reality bites, Fields is a backup according to most GMs. That's why he was available for a song;
