Cameron Heyward is a perfect fit for the end in the 3-4. When Hood came along, no one knew for sure where he would go ("Are we switching to a 4-3?" "Can he backup Casey Hampton"?, etc).

Insane: All due respect, but I consider Walter Football a good site and they had us taking CB Curtis Brown at 2(63) and we ended up getting even greater value for Brown when we actually selected him...
Yup.
That's why #31 is known for being the worst pick in the draft.
Pretty sure that's a positive.
We need a QB run quick.
Worst part is, this could mean run a Cornerbacks.
Torn ?....Yeah, they were SO TORN that after they announced the Jets selection, the Steelers had their card turned into the Commish in 6 seconds they were SO TORN![/quote]
Agreed. I...
All I keep reading and hearing is how soft Sherrod is, and doesn't play with a killer instinct. He didn't sound like a Steeler to me before the draft, and it's evident they didn't think so either.
...
If the Steelers approached the draft with the mindset of need over value, we'd have Shawn Andrews and Ben Roethlisberger would be in Buffalo.
I think I like their way better than yours.
Scott is a career backup. Colon is not going to comeback unless he plays RG which i doubt he will play. Flozell Adams is on his last leg. Max Starks is a free agent after 2012. He will be looking for...
Keep in the mind, the 2nd round is usually off beat in that, that's where you start to see names you don't really here about, being called before the bigger names (1st round talents who slipped)....
Baldwin is the third best WR in this draft, just like original 2011 mocks had him along before the season started. It's not his fault he had the worst starting QB and offensive playcalling in NCAA.
And we don't need Heyward to get to the Quarterback, which is basically the sum of his listed negatives in reports.
Woodley was bashed by scouting reports for being inconsistent.
To me Heyward is the Woodley, and Hood is the Timmons.
Heyward will pick this up quick.
To me, this is a Heath Miller, Maurkice Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger value. That instant fan favorite Steeler type. Couldn't have happened any better at 31.
The team has been more tight-lipped about who they have officially brought in this year. We have rumors about more than that (as indicated), but not actual confirmation in the Pittsburgh newspapers...
*Yes. Even if the Raiders aren't a bottom 10 team, they'll still be picking well before #31 next year.
#48 may get you a Dowling.
*If Cameron Heyward is available, it would be a tough...
That may leave us with Cameron Heyward then (who like Aaron Williams being mocked to us, Heyward is being mocked to them).
He dropped because he has 5 QB's going in the top 12.
Let's hope that happens. But I doubt it.
Only 17 official visits this year?
I think you are missing the point. This isn't your average first round Guard talk. Sure any other team, or us for that matter if we didn't have Maurkice, it would make no sense to trade up for a...
