From his private office in the building... notice he doesn't have that in the 'Burgh.
Just think if KP had stayed the course and was backup to Wilson. He would have enjoyed a nice upgraded offense after Wilson moved on with a $40M contract. KP let his emotions get in the way of sound...
Peterson was not a good safety, and he was an even worse CB. Otherwise the Steelers would have resigned him immediately.
Unfortunately the Ravens are staying very close in the draft race. I think they were given an A- by some sites.
And you can't hide the luck factor. The highest positions of need for the Steelers...
This isn't the Steelers board, it's the consensus. Example is Wilson being picked at #98 while the consensus said he should go much earlier.
The only outsider that knows what the Steelers board...
What no one can say is what level of influence Weidl now has in the room. Some posters say it's Kahn but Weidl was brought in specifically for his player evaluation expertise. He sets the board. Kahn...
Thread title very misleading.
Warren did not use the word 'better'. He said the QB room was 'different ' from last season.
'Instant grades' are pretty meaningless.
I do like the re-grades some sites put out after the season.
The Athletic did one for 2023 about a month ago;
...
Hence the convo with Sutton.
Yea, some clear grading on the curve. But everyone knows it's for entertainment purposes only. Literally grading players before they've even taken an NFL snap.
I was on Bishop earlier this year as a target and wasn't sure why he fell either. Is there an undisclosed injury/issue?
Profile from wvsports:
Beanie Bishop came to West Virginia in 2023...
The last few tweeners haven't worked out so well for the Steelers. Leal, Loudermilk, and Neal, and earlier Brooks come to mind. But of course you have to have a ticket before you can win.
Tomlin ain't perfect. He makes some mistakes and Dotson was one of them.
You're right. Fix one trench at a time rather than trying to patch two with lesser talent in later rounds. DL, CB, and safety early next draft.
The dreaded "tweener" word was used:
A one year 'stay out of trouble ' contract? Tomlin loves himself a rehab project.
Yep, and yes!
The Steelers have given Arthur Smith every chance to have success this season.
A veteran QB good enough to play in the post season
OL rebuilt with power running in mind; added nastiness to go...
What I think has changed is an attitude from the past that "we're smarter than everyone else". The Green pick absolutely smacked of that.
No, you're not smarter than everyone else....
And here he is:
Are there any Wilsons left to draft on Day 3? Gotta fill a quad box:

Kahn/Weidl did in two drafts what Colbert couldn't do in four, a rebuilt OL:

Probably the best description of him. A short term solution to a problem position. Reload in a season or two. If he didn't have the injury history the Steelers don't even get a sniff of the guy. One...
And CB is a far riskier pick than OL. A team with the Steelers roster holes can't afford too many misses
