Doctors are projecting 6-8 week absence for #Steelers rookie RB Le'Veon Bell with a Lissfranc injury. Hopeful rest will allow him to return
Either way you cut it folks, the injury bug continues to kill us....Quote:

http://nbcprofootballtalk.files.word...veon.jpg?w=250APThe news isnít great on Steelers rookie running back LeíVeon Bell, but itís not as bad as it could have been.
Following the reports that Bell suffered a Lisfranc injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Bell is expected to miss six weeks. Jason La Canfora of CBS put Bellís recovery time at six to eight weeks.
If that is indeed Bellís recovery time, the Steelers wouldnít exactly be happy about it, but it could be worse: The Lisfranc injury that Bell suffered can cause players to miss much longer than eight weeks.
A second-round draft pick, Bell had been expected to become a major part of the Steelersí offense. That may still happen, but the Steelers will open the season with Bell on the sideline and Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer and LaRod Stephens-Howling as their running backs.
Lisfranc: French for "we are screwed."
I understand the training staff probably couldn't help with this, but given all the injuries we've had, should the Steelers be looking at their conditioning/strength and training staffs with closer scrutiny? Seems like our guys have been dropping like flies for the last couple years.
I told everybody this yesterday that if....he had a little less severe injury that Speath had, then he would be out a minimum of 6-8 weeks, and look at this...I was right. But, that time frame is ONLY if he has the surgery. If he doesn't, then 90 % of the time when athletes refuse surgery, they will ALWAYS never fully recover from that type of injury, and usually always have reaccuring issues with it. So BEST case scenario...to me is Bell won't be ready to fully play all out til...week 8 at the earliest. Which means, we should just make Dwyer our starter. Give him the 27-33 carries a game EVERY GAME no matter what, and go from there.
