Just finished watching 60 Minutes and they did a profile on Pete Carroll. They had the usual stuff about him as the HC @ USC, which was impressive.
But the crux of the story dealt with his work with LA gangs and how he goes into the most crime infested areas there and he does contact work with many of these gang members. Often times, he isn't doing anything differently than what he is doing when he is coaching. Most of the time, as Carroll would put it, all these kids need is a little "coaching up".
I was already impressed with Pete Carroll and what he has done to turn around the football program at USC. I came away humbled and much more proud of this man after the story than I was before.
:Cheers to Pete Carroll!!!
