Finally! Colon is a goner for sure.
Foster / Beachum will start at LG
One will be the backup along with Legursky who will backup both G and C.
That leaves us with:
DeCastro
Beachum
Foster
Legursky
Odd man out = Colon and his insanely overinflated salary
well I guess we know what the steelers think of him now!
good news.
I know some of you thought he wouldn't be re-signed because he doesn't fit Haleys and Bicknell's scheme, but I like this signing.
I like this signing. Foster is far from great, but he is a league average starter. If Adams, Gilbert, Pouncey and DD play up to their talent level, the line has the potential to be very good, and all you should need to compliment those guys is a league average starter.
Also, given his versatility and the injuries that always seem to hit the offensive line, bringing back a reliable player like Foster is a solid decision.
He can either start at OG or backup 4 spots.
Excellent signing.

The 27-year-old Foster has started 42 games for Pittsburgh in four seasons, including all 16 games in 2012. He started the first 13 games at right guard before moving to left guard when David DeCastro returned to action late in the season.
At the very least, Foster’s return would strengthen the Steelers’ guard depth. That said, it will be interesting to see how the Steelers proceed with Willie Colon, who is slated to make $5.5 million in salary in 2013, per Rotoworld. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette previously reported that Colon’s agent, Joe Linta, hadn’t been informed of any plans to cut Colon’s compensation. While Colon showed promise at left guard in 2012, a knee injury ended his campaign, and he has missed 36 games because of injury in the last three seasons.
