Notes from A&M Pro Day
This is from Lance Zierlein. The more I read about Damontre Moore, I really hope that he is taken by somebody before the Steelers. I wouldn't want him in the first or the second.
Also interesting that Jarrod Johnson was throwing to the WRs.

Steelers ought to sign Jarrod Johnson to a cheap contract and give him another chance. Leftwich won't be back.
I'm with you on Damontre Moore.

Moore is going in the 2nd round. You can bank on it. I hope it's to the Steelers in the 2nd if he is there. A good 2nd round pick, but not in the first.

Talk about an interesting pro day. There were 7 players listed. They ranged from the rd 1 possible 1st pick to a very good 7th rd prospect. It was like a complete 7 rd draft all in one.
TS had several people there. Kirby Woods, Joe Greene for sure and maybe a LB coach.
For some reason I do not think TS are going to draft any of these players even if they are available and in the right spot. But, they are all really good regardless.
Several of them are already in mocks on the board and Christine Michael is off the charts in his workout numbers. Here are some excerpts from various
reports.

Here are the results from Walter Football which does a good job on this.

Question? If TS went there to just look at one player who do you think it might be?
-
Christine Micheal would be Chadman's preferred A&M player...... if his character checks out.
-
What about Ryan Swope? 4.34 40. He could be a super young Wes Welker. I don't think he is an outside WR - didn't he play his entire career at the slot? But as a slot guy, I think he could be money, money. He could be like a much faster Hines Ward. If he has leadership DNA, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the black & gold.
-
Beware the Combine workout warrior that sees his draft status bump up significantly based on timed speed.
He still looked ordinary in position drills.

Typically, I'd agree: Beware of the combine workout warriors __IF__ they weren't productive in college. But this kid WAS. Look at his production.

Over 2,000 yards and 19 TDs his last two seasons at a major college program. That tells me he is much more than just a work out warrior. But, you also have to know going in that he is pretty much a pure slot dude, and they don't command as much draft status as a pure, true #1 WR, hence, he shouldn't be drafted too early, but still, if he is sitting there in the 3rd, he could be a good value. One could argue that it would still leave us without a legit #1, and to that, I would agree. Sanders and Brown don't seem like legit #1 WRs to me.

Actually, did anyone see Chris Harper from Kansas St work out at the Senior Bowl practices & Combine. That's an intriguing looking WR...
