pretty much
and getting the ball knocked away from him in the goaline drill the other day isnt encouraging either, after coughing the ball up twice late in games last year that we wound up losing
Right, but then you need to consider it was a future hall of fame safety that plays with a lot of explosion and intelligence that knocked the ball loose. It's a slower time for football, even with training camp underway it seems like we need to go digging for information. Despite the great stuff being posted here. All the stuff with people being compared to previous steelers and certain expectations are pretty premature and IMO a little ridiculous. Let the cards fall as they may. I'm of the opinion that when things finally settle we'll be looking at a pretty damn good team, maybe the best we've fielded in a while if everything comes together like it should. Everyone needs to relax.
i'll give you AB as a #2
who else ya got? sanders hasnt shown to even be a capable #3 at this point in his career.
plax is more of a # 3 or 4 at this point in his career. same with cotch and whaeaton is a rookie
Every team would like to have a clear number 1 but even those that do have their struggles. I always remember the 2005 Season. Hines Ward, Randel El, Cedrick Wilson. While Hines was a number 1 with good hands and toughness, I don't think Randel El and Wilson were #2's on most teams.
Talent-wise, I think we have more playmakers this year than we did in 2005. But they all need to step up and contribute in a big way. I'm more concerned about the tight end position than I am WR.

I agree.... if he had a bad wheel or dropped a ton of passes I would be concerned but a few bad plays in camp isn't the end all.
I'm pretty sure every player on our team has made a mistake or 2 in practice.

My preference is to focus more on what AB's positives are, rather than what he is not. What he is, IMO, is a breakaway threat any time the ball is in his hands.

it might compare to that unit. but that was also 8 years ago, and passing has erupted in the league.
look around the starting line ups around the league and compare their skill positions to brown, sanders, and bell. we are near the bottom.
as an example

if he secures the ball correctly, even troy isnt lodging that loose. its a fundamental aspect.
