I wonder if that means they're worried about a bone fracture, instead of "just" a soft tissue tear.
"Ben has a right shoulder that is being evaluated, we don't know the status of that", Tomlin said in the post-game presser.

if its a collarbone, we are screwed.

It really did not look like a collarbone... I HOPE it's not that.
Dilfer speculated it a AC joint injury, something of which he says he's very familiar (11 of them). I'll take that, given the two choices.
Esiason also tweeted his memories of similar injury. I researched AC joint injuries on some previous qbs. Stafford had one a few years ago. He apparently had a grade 2 separation and was supposed to miss 2-4 weeks but perhaps more due to it being throwing shoulder. He was hurt week 1 then missed the next 5 weeks. Ugh....
He fell on his elbow causing a jam...def. a sprained AC joint.
If he had a collarbone fracture he would have been doubled over in serious pain.

I guess the purpose of the MRI would be to see if he totally tore his arm out of his shoulder socket, or just sprained the joint ... ?
Didn't Ben have a bad shoulder coming into the season? Seems to me I read that the Steelers decided not to do surgery in the offseason, but to let him play with it. I don't suppose it would take much of a blow to knock him out for a few weeks...
Yahoo sports is reporting that Ben has a separated shoulder. A source is quoted as saying the injury is "unusual", whatever the heck that means.
I heard Ashley's water broke when Ben got sacked.
Someone said (ex-QB, can't remember who) - why wait till tomorrow if you have a chance right now to find out what it is.
