We had our chances............

We had more than a chance; he had several of them and this team just couldn't find a way to win. They are what their record says they are: average. Nothing special. Not play off worthy. Just run of the mill.

Exactly, when you lose to the Raiders, Titans, Chargers, and Browns you don't deserve to cry about not being in the playoffs. They can only blame themselves.
While I agree with Lloyd, you cannot overlook the injuries...injuries just robbed this offense of any continuity.
seems like a good coach would have found a way to turn it around

...and CRUNCH our already mediocre OL is decimated by injuries. That is when the season went downhill.

Exactly. We're the third-best team in the AFC North. Woo-hoo...
Too many underperforming players, too much poor coaching, and too many bad attitudes.
And whatever happened to "the standard is the standard" and "next player up"?
Sad thing is, with our cap situation, next season may well be another frustrating one. On the bright side, it could be worse...we could be Cleveland Browns fans...:D

I agree with you. Tomlin is paid to navigate his team through tough times and devise ways to win with the personnel he has. Didn't happen. "Things looked pretty bleak at that point." Yeah, if you say so, Mike.
8-8 with five of those losses by 3 points is about as good as a coach can do in those circumstances. The coach puts his players in position to win. In five of those losses, the Steelers were in position to win.
