I LOVED watching my Pens on HBO's 24/7 series when the Winter Classic was being held at Heinz Field. Makes you appreciate guys like Ben Lovejoy, whose face was swollen like the Elephant Man on the plane flight after being hit in the face with the puck during the game earlier that night, and who also uttered the immortal “We're going to find out who did it, and probably do nothing about it” after Fleury and others moved all of the furniture from his hotel room into the hallway while he was away at dinner. Great stuff.
The Pens coverage was awesome. How cool would it be if they did a Steelers / Ravens 24/7?
It woulda been more interesting with Ward and Farrior on the roster.

Hard Knocks is just another stupid reality TV show and I hope the Steelers don't even entertain the idea. They don't do anything untoward that would cause embarrassment, but it would be like airing dirty laundry, it's dumb. It would suck for the players trying to earn a paycheck and then get cut in front of millions of people. I believe the Steelers have way more class than that to potentially embarrass a player trying to make a living.
Let the loser teams go on Hard Knocks to try and drum fan support; the Steelers do not need to go searching for fan support, the Steeler fans will always be there for the team.

We live in an era of transparency. Companies that aren't transparent won't be relevant in future generations imho.
The Steelers decision not to be on Hard Knocks, protects our Steelers, our parents Steelers, and our grandparents Steelers. But it may not protect our children's Steelers. This could be the kind of decision that may seem prudent, but will lead to future generations looking at the Steelers the way young fans view baseball.
If the Steelers are classy, we'd see the classy on tv. If they weren't, we wouldn't.
Embrace change. Or become irrelevant.
Do it for the kids. And their kids. And Flippy's entertainment :)
