Felix Jones might be the best RB on the roster not named "Bell".
Would not be surprised if we have found a short term starter here.
I agree I've seen enough of Dwyer and Redman to know what I'm going to get. I'd like to see him starting week 1 but Redman will, but I doubt the Redman stays healthy, if that happens and Jones comes in the Steelers wont look back unitil Bell is healthy enough.

Yeah, we can roll with him until the wheels come off....which should be about the time Bell is ready to return.
Howling Jones and Dwyer all look great. Its not Bell who should be worried about losing his role. Its Redman who should be worried about losing his roster spot. I could see him getting cut. With roster spots at a premium thanks to our TE woes. Im not sure they keep 5 backs.
Losing Redman would not be a loss. He can't stay healthy.

It's an interesting situation with the RBs. If Bell was not in the picture at all, I think that Dwyer/Jones and Howling would be the best options. With Bell in the picture, I prefer Redman over Dwyer because Redman is a bit more versatile.
Dwyer seems to be either the starter or the odd man out. With Redman, he has versatility catching the ball, blocking, etc.
As for Felix Jones, he obviously has natural talent - he was selected right after Mendenhall. He doesn't have the durability to be a feature back, but could be an effective part of a rotation.

Redman and Dwyer are not under contract next season. Either could go. My money is on Dwyer being cut because he seems to disappoint the coaching staff quite a bit. I believe they are frustrated with him.

Felix Jones is a great runner, just staying healthy is his issue.

Some of y'all crack me up. Bell was slotted in as a co-starter right before the injury. The coaches and his teammates have had nothing but over the top good things to say about him. As a rookie, he earned a starter slot against vets with experience. Yet, you are not impressed. While that is your prerogative...I'll just have to take your less than informed opinion with a grain of salt.

I personally like the way Howling runs...fast...great vision...runs like his hair is on fire.

best back this preseason...durability is a concern though.
as far as Bell is concerned...what are we to be impressed about? Bell was given the co-starting role over RB's who are predicted to be the starter or cut. This isn't an impressive bunch to beat IMO.

Hmm...well I'm impressed with how he impressed his coaches and teammates. Maybe just maybe they are more qualified by exposure and experience to qualify Bell's play. Just my 2 cents.
