Thank God somebody's been given #78.
I thought Wheaton might change his.
Of course, Hines' # was 15 his rookie season.

Oh that just will make the whining WORSE. FAR WORSE.
We can still PRETEND it's Max as long as he is not in the game.
Then when he goes in and allows Ben to be destroyed seeing "78" will be a cruel reminder of what could have been.
So I am sorry to say, Whimper wearing 78 just made matters worse. :)

One idiot on another message board said that Guy Whimper wasn't "worthy" of #78. *lol*
Max Starks makes hypocrites out of so many Steeler fans. Everybody hated him back in 2007, but now he's suddenly irreplaceable. And they'll **** all over legitimate Pro Bowl-caliber players like Ben Roethlisberger, Maurkice Pouncey, Lawrence Timmons and LaMarr Woodley while longing for a T who was average at best.

Pouncey sure isn't legitimate Pro-Bowler right now. While I am not a Starks apologist, he played better than Pouncey last year. His last 2 years were as solid as we could ask for a LT or for anyone on this crappy OLINE.

Max Starks was/is a better left tackle than anyone on our current roster and DEFINITELY better than Guy Whimper. He's off the team because of some issue w/ Tomlin. I'm sure of it.

I agree with that "other poster". While I don't care about the jersey #, I would NEVER choose Guy Whimper over Max Starks like Tomlin has....
Or maybe he's off the team because he got outdone by King Dunlap and cut by the ****ing Chargers.

He was our best o-lineman last year and that's playing the toughest position on the o-line (LT). He's actually quite durable as well unlike most our other o-lineman.
Jacksonville is an embarrassment and they didn't want Guy Whimper.
