BTW, all that Cutler has done with his huge, cannon arm is never win a play off game, proof that having a big gun is only a part of the over all QB picture. Arguably, the greatest QB of all time, Montana, had a very so-so powered arm.
I gave him lots of compliments. I just think it's a tougher road for a guy without the big arm. For every Joe Montana, there's a bunch of Jon Kitnas and Chad Penningtons. Same goes for the big arm busts.
At the end of the day, football's 90% mental aside from a few players who's athleticism transcends the game. I'm just not ready to anoint Luck given his physical tools just yet. That's all. Even if he had Cutler's arm, I wouldn't be ready to anoint him.
Just something he has to overcome. And it might come back to haunt him come playoff time when defenses get better. Defenses that have less field to defend gain an advantage.

The preseason results don't necessarily matter, but one can take a look at the early parts of the preseason games when starters are matched against the other team's starters...
In both games, so far, the Steelers have had their way when both teams' starting lineups are in...

means absolutely nothing, way too small of a sample size to be able to draw any conclusions...:p
I don't share the optimism on RM. I have a feeling JD will make the same OL, that RM makes look crappy, look quite good in comparison.
I hope you right about JD and he comes out gang busters and pro bowl material. I thought he could be a steal coming out of college, but he had some things to prove. Hopefully, he is now seeing the light. A month ago, I expected him to be cut by end of preseason.
I believe there were two large issues with RM. The first is the previous offense was not conducive to his skill set. Arians run game was not suited to RM's skill set. Second, the run blocking was crap (part lack of skill and part poor design). I thought RM looked frustrated early in the season but looked better later in the year. RM has some very unique skills that I think Haley will try to use. Hopefully that and better blocking will calm down RM's happy feet. (for the record, I am not a huge RM supporter).

I know the Pre-season wins and losses don't matter but I was very disappointed with our last series when we had a 1st and goal at the one. We lose 2 yards on 1st down and then another 2 on 2nd down. Third down was a no gainer and we once again have to settle for a FG which was almost blocked.
The first down play really bothered me because it didn't seem to be designed very well. How can we not have somebody assigned to block the linebacker. We don't even have to block him, just shield him from running down the line of scrimmage and making the tackle. I could understand if it were a safety making that type of play but not the linebacker. That set of plays reminded me of our struggles we have been having for the last few years. I really had hoped we had solved that issue.
