That is a remarkably cogent and comprehensive mock draft whose foundational premises address the Steelers multitudinous deficiencies while providing substantive depth at several essential positions.
Very astute observations MJG, very astute indeed.

Wow EJ Manuel in the 2nd? Bold pick Mr P. I'm thinkin Browns in the 2nd if they go another position in rd 1.

Depends when the QB's start going. Could see Barkley & Nassib go in 2 before Manuel but who knows. Lots of these guys are so close its hard to tell who will go off the board first. Could be a draft of runs where once one WR goes a group of WR go. That sort of thing. CAN'T WAIT TILL TOMORROW!
After heading back to the lab to work on my elixir to take the surprising Sanders turn of events into account, I have revised my mock and this is final....
1st Round: Tyler Eifert TE Notre Dame
2nd Round: E.J. Manuel QB Florida State
3rd Round: Stedman Bailey WR West Virginia
4th Round: Christine Michael RB Texas A&M
5th Round: John Simon OLB Ohio State
6th Round:Tony Jefferson FS Oklahoma
6th Round: Zac Stacy RB Vanderbilt
7th Round: Michael Mauti LB Penn State
Not a fan of TE in Rd#1....I just don't see the value.
QB in Rd 2 is way too high for a team who has way too many holes to fill....I don't see the point in drafting a QB in Rd 2 who will be backup to Ben for his entire rookie contract.
I like rest of the pick but i will be disappointed with Rd 1 and Rd 2 picks.

A rebuilding team could get a lot for a Superbowl winning QB that has a year or two left in the tank....having a QB ready to start would enable Ben to be moved.

Ben's probably got another 7-10 years in him. Most QBs start to peak in their 30s.

Why would you trade your franchise QB who has 5-6 good years remaining for draft picks??
How many 2nd Rd or later QB are franchise QB in NFL???
