Signed 1 year deal with the Browns.

Smart kid should just go to NASA or work for Elon.

To backup Watson and Brissett?

Maybe Baker will rent him a room in the stadium until he gets a new place

They needed another QB. Watson will be suspended and Baker will get dealt at some point.

Always thought Dobbs got lost in the Steeler QB shuffle despite being Ben's favorite #2 QB. I'm a sucker for any QB with an IQ over room temperature :)

I'm feeling kinda sad about this ... Dobbs seems like way too good a guy to end up with the Stains

Dobbs is making a lot of money as a backup. He has the rest if his life to pursue whatever he wants…

This makes me believe we are drafting a QB.

I can't see anyone trading for Mayfield knowing they can't afford to keep him

I can confirm that back up QBs make more than most engineers...at least engineering professors.

It's obviously up to him, but I think he'd be an awesome candidate to be someone who communicates about science and tries to broaden participation in STEM fields.

An African American NFL QB who is also an engineer absolutely destroys the stereotype most people have about engineers.

Also from experience: I know 0 engineers who had to struggle with the choice between being a pro athlete and an engineer. Although I do know 1 guy who was a semi-pro soccer player and 1 woman who played hockey on her country's international team but was a final cut on a pro women's hockey team.

The Steelers had a safety (I am going by memory) a few years back named Myron Rolle that I believe retired or left football and went into a science field, Medicine. He is now a doctor (neurosurgeon). Hopefully the link below works.

He was drafted by the Titans, I believe and we signed him. I believe we cut him shortly there after.

That's awesome!

I remember Rolle, but didn't remember him going on to be a doctor.

I think the Rats had an OL that went on to be a PhD (in Math? or maybe Econ?).

And didn't the LB that left the 49ers (?) go on to work at his family's hedge fund or something? Not necessarily STEM, but my understanding is that there is a huge amount of math modeling that goes on at most investment houses.

Yes, always glad and happy to hear. I hope I am around long enough that these type stories will no longer needed to be celebrated.
