I can't say I blame him; for whatever reason, he's not getting his fair share of passes his way and I still think he can be a good one. But it's hard to give him much more than #4 chances, with JuJu, Chase, DJ in front of him.

I'd be concerned trading him for one reason. We don't know if DJ's drops will continue this season (he had at least one last night) and if they do those 100+ targets should be drastically cut and given to Washington. After all, getting open is only half a WR's job.

I would do the same if I were him. The team doesn't use him enough or properly. He'll excel in an offense in the middle of the field on intermediate routes. For some reason, the Steelers only have short passing plays or long ones in their playbook. I can't blame Washington for wanting a chance to be the number 1 or 2 guy and give himself a chance for a big payday.

I think this makes sense...although I don't like when these things are public.

It's the last year of his contract and he won't have a big role unless someone gets hurt.

That means he probably won't get a big 2nd contract next year if he stays with us.

He's solidly behind DJ, Juju, and Claypool.

Our best case is that he stays so that when / if we can't bring Juju back next season, we still have 3 good WRs in DJ, Claypool, and Washington. Then we can sign him on the cheap this off-season because he won't have a big resume.

But his best case is that he goes somewhere where he would be expected to have a big role without hoping for an injury. Then he'll put up better number and get more $$$ on his contract.

I hope we don't give in to a demand like this too quickly. If we do try to trade him, I think it might be good to wait for an injury. I think he's probably a good #3 with the potential to be an OK #2. I hope we don't flip him for a 6th or something.

Better to keep him as insurance if the return is small...but we've said we don't want hostages, so maybe we invite this kind of thing a bit.

His problem is basically (1) we were able to get Juju cheaper than anyone expected for a year and (2) we seem to have hit big with Claypool.

He's good enough to have a bigger role...but not on this team IMO.

As I said yesterday one big problem we'll have this year is only having 1 football. I would honor his request, but not sure we'll get a lot, as he is in the last year of his contract. Hope it works out for him.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Yes! He has to be the best FOURTH WR in Football, Not even close! And when you see Ebron lined up next to you dropping pass after pass and never being benched...It has to be frustrating!

If you get good return trade him. At best he will be the sixth option behind: JuJu, claypool, dj, Harris, freimuth and ebron.

Plus we have tons of young guys showing well who could be a number of five or six

Send out feelers to the Lions, Eagles, Raiders, Colts, Patriots. All of them need WR help. The Lions are really horrible. Not sure what those teams have to offer but worth kicking the tires on a trade scenario.

Yep… let’s see what we can get.

                            I agree.

however, if we aren't offered a good return then I wouldn't trade him. it's a long season and one of our top 3 WRs could get injured and we would need Washington as there is a big dropoff after him.
