I suggested this current version of the Steelers was 2008 reincarnated. Had the chance to look back and make some comparisons. Some similarities; the 2008 offense didn't score as much (back when they called holding)... but that 2008 defense, damn.

Discuss....

2008 defense was an all time statistical defense. They helped the team win the Superbowl.

2020 defense makes more timely game changing plays more consistently than any Steelers defense than I can remember. Our memories can fail us in that regard so I could be wrong. 2008 was a long time ago.

I like the comparison north coast is trying to do. Hopefully our season can end the same way our 2008 season ended.

It was harder to score on the 2008 defense. This defense is MUCH more turnover creating.

2008 was incredibly consistent. This one is more dynamic.

This years defense creates AND allows more splash plays than that one.

I do feel like this one is growing. By seasons end it might be equal in consistency.

Offense?
We are a much better passing team today...a lesser running team.

Overall we are a MUCH better offense. 2008 version of Hines would be about as good as Washington.

if you truly feel that way then why do you have your sig?

Remember that in 2008 they actually called holding on the OLs. Those penalty yards can add up.

There was only one holding call on JAX OL today and that was a play where Watt was literally tackled as he was about to get a sack.

I know; I saw that. It was a wrestling move take down they did on Watt.
