125+ experts continue on the Steelers bandwagon with 98% taking the Steelers straight up while two-thirds even favor them ATS. A few key points:

JAC Offense:

At first glance I was scratching my head how this team only has one win. After all, they took GB to the edge last week. They are 10th in 3rd down conversion % and just behind the Steelers averaging 340 yds/gm.
But then lurking in the stats we find some possible ailments, the first being pts/gm where they rank 26th. Also, it seems JAC has lived off explosive plays to keep them in games. They rank 4th in the NFL in explosive run rates and 22nd in explosive passing, bettering the Steelers in both categories.
They don't put together long sustained drives as their TOP is 29th in the NFL.
For those complaining about the Steelers run/pass imbalance (me included), JAC is behind only CHI in %passes/gm averaging 65% for the season. Part of this could be because they were in catch-up mode in most games. But in the last 3 wks the % passes has dropped back to nearly the league average probably because the games were closer.
The OL is nearly as bad as CIN as they have allowed 28 sacks so far.
They are 26th in rushing at 100 yds/gm. Robinson has 689 yds on the season, averaging 4.4 yds/att. They are most successful running off tackle to the left behind Cam Robinson. But Cam is dinged up. Robinson is a threat in the passing game with 29 rec. for 200+ yds so the Steelers can't lose track of the guy when rushing the QB.

JAC Defense:

Not a good defense; 30th in pts allowed, 29th and 25th in passing and rush yds allowed/gm.
The RZ defense is soft, especially in passing, allowing 19 TDs on the season.
They are 27th in explosive pass plays allowed.... another chance for 7-11 to dial it up!
They are not good rushing the QB, with only 9 sacks on the year. Should give Roethlisberger plenty of time to practice throwing down field this weekend.

This shouldn't be a close game and it would not be surprising to end in a score like last weekend. The one BUT that is lurking is whether the Steelers get caught peeking ahead to next week's game. The big positive though is that when one side of the ball seems to struggle, the other side seems to have a good game. Fortunately there hasn't been a game where both sides were miserable and there hasn't been a Bad Ben sighting this entire season.

THIS. Jags can be scrappy at times, but their D is just bad. And we have a Hall of Fame QB and they got.......Jake Luton, a 6th rd rookie from OR State. Now, we all know how our team tends to make rookie, late round QBs look like Dan Marino, circa 1984. But come on! Not this time.

Their RB Robinson is a solid back, came out of nowhere (UDFA, IL State). He's a little guy (5-9, 219) but is an effective runner (4.4 ypc).

Their WRs are capable, in Chark, Cole, Shenault. But I think our pressure is going to make it a tough row to hoe. And of the little fans who will be allow to attend, half will be Steeler fans, so not much home field advantage. The fact that Tomlin is verbalizing how they cannot take this team lightly gives me hope they won't.

Pgh - 27
Jags - 17

The Good:

D Johnson - his turn to take the stage and he shined, finishing the day with 12 catches for 111 yds.
J Berry - second time he has shown up on the list in recent weeks; great distance and 2 punts inside the 20.
C Claypool - making the history books as a rookie with his 10th TD catch in his first 10 games; hopefully the Steelers will have a QB that can feed him the ball the rest of his career which could be HOF-worthy.
DBs - lumping them all together as I think they all worked well as a unit today; Edmunds and Fitz led with 2 picks each but Haden had some good tight coverage. (that said, a better QB probably completes a couple more passes that were wide open down field)
Second string - lots of plugins later in the game and didn't see a huge dropoff when they were in. great opportunity to get these guys some PT just in case
Running game - am hesitant to put them on the 'good' list but there was noticeable improvement and effort to get this unit going even though Conner really had only a few successful runs on his 13 touches.
Play Action - made it's appearance later in the game and guess what?.. it worked!... more please.
Watt & Dupree - pressure from the outside all day long and a few hits on the QB that hurt even me watching on the couch

The Bad:

Offensive playcalling - had me scratching my head at least a few times; running McFarland up the middle multiple times for zip??
D Watt - didn't see him much and when he was in didn't see any effects.
DeCastro - not seeing this guy blowing anyone up when he pulls in the run game; I think he is part of the reason the run game isn't working and I am starting to wonder if he is on a rapid decline or just still hurting from earlier injuries.

The Ugly:

Ebron - yes he had a nice TD catch but a couple of times I was shocked how easy he was knocked off his route by a guy that probably gives up 30 lbs on him.
TEs - Gentry & McDonald go down in the game and leave Steelers with even less blocking.
JJSS - steps on a flag and tweaks his ankle, out the rest of the game
McCloud - ok, a bit tikky tak on a day when clearly most things were clicking but McCloud calling fair catch on a punt that no one was within 10 yds of him, could have been a huge return.

Tampa is not a team but 'a collection of talent'. Brady, Gronk, Evans, AB. No identity on offense, no coordination in playcalling with that talent. The Steelers know how that story ends and it's not fun.
