The Steelers have never started a season 8-0 before. Is it a coincidence that they are enjoying this success after Ben has found Jesus?

I don't think Jesus is supposed to be a magic charm that is guaranteed to bring success in one's endeavors (in spite of what some televangelists might tell you). Finding him might give Ben peace of heart and help him treat people better, but it doesn't obligate God to help the Steelers win. After all, every team probably has players that have found Jesus.

But since finding Jesus Ben is no longer addicted to porno or booze, and that may have helped him.

True. To the extent that may have assisted Ben in doing his job better on the football field then, yes, I guess you could say it played a part in the 8-0 start.

But if his performance falls off and he (and the team) don't do so well the rest of the way, I don't think you can blame it on Jesus not coming through.

Whichever team is the most holy and says the most prayers will probably win, but only if they pray to the right God and follow the right religion.

I don't think it works that way. During any game, there are probably a lot of unholy things said by members of every team. And even more by every team's fans.

And if it worked as you said, how could you ever explain the super bowls won by Belicheat & Co. ? :)

Guys like Mahommes are playing for God too, so it’s a tough call.

Christian McCaffery’s parents went and put Christ in his name, so I think that trumps the Jesus card.

Plus Ben won SuperBowls before Jesus so I dunno.

I was just kidding. I find it silly that some players do pray for wins. It just doesn't make sense.

I read the thread title and thought: "This would be more plausible if Troy were still on the team".

Love hearing Pat McAfee talking about how Troy talks to Jesus and that's why he ruined his life :tt2
