Been hearing some talking heads comments about the 25th ranked Steelers offense (yds/gm) and did some digging. Here's some things I found;

Steelers are averaging 339 yds/gm (25th)
Steelers average starting field position 32 yd line; (3rd in NFL)
Steelers TOP/Drive is 3:05 (11th)
Steelers are 6th worse in 3 and outs/drive
Steelers are 5th in TDs/drive; and 5th in pts/gm

Bottomline, while they have a high percentage of 3 and outs, the Steelers start with good field position, possess the ball, and finish with TDs. The short fields I think distort the yds per game.

One other stat, thanks to Ray-Ray, the Steelers average starting field position after kick off ranks 7th in the NFL. When was the last time the Steelers were in the top 10 in that category?!? Another strong pickup by Colbert this season (gonna miss this GM when he moves on).

I think our offense will be fine

We saw last Sunday that we can get multiple scores on a very good defense pretty quickly

what is that quote, "there are stats, and then there are lies"

But good dig in interpreting...

Definitely want to see Ben connect on a few deep passes. I remember when we had Mike Wallace and the probability of connecting on the long balm was extremely high.

Now tho... it rarely is catchable. Hopefully the timing gets better with our WR’s.

Again, I don’t need big passing numbers as long as we are winning games.
