Apparently Tomlin isn't the only HC that can't control his troops.

Per multiple sources Chung was indicted today on cocaine charges.

Oh wow

The whole “NE doesn’t have off the field problems” was always hilarious.

LOL

Seriously though, I want that whole miserable team and organization to implode. I'm so incredibly sick of them it physically hurts to think about it. And now we're forced to watch their 6-ring ceremony for our opener. Disgusting.

Imagine if they caught Belichick and Brady with cocaine.

Even Goodell would have a hard time sweeping that under the rug, I'd think.

That would be almost as bad as if Kraft were caught paying for sex at a massa....oh never mind.

Patrick Chung will face no league punishment, likely for a while
By Mike Florio | Aug 22, 2019, 4:40 PM EDT

With Patriots safety Patrick Chung indicted on felony cocaine possession charges, Patriots fans are bracing for (and non-Patriots fans are rooting for) Chung not being available this season. While that would happen if the Patriots choose to release Chung, the league cannot suspend Chung, with or without pay, based on these allegations.

Chung’s alleged misconduct does not fall under the Personal Conduct Policy. The substance-abuse policy covers criminal conduct involving substances of abuse, and the substance-abuse policy contains clear language on what can, and thus can’t, be done to a player who merely faces criminal charges, whether misdemeanor or felony.

First, nothing can be done until the charges are resolved. The league can’t, and won’t, conduct its own investigation and take action independent of the criminal process.

Second, Chung can’t be suspended with pay pending resolution of the charges. It’s simply not available under the substance-abuse policy. The Commissioner-Exempt list applies only to potential Personal Conduct Policy violations involving alleged crimes of violence.

Third, Chung will be subject to NFL discipline only if he ultimately is found responsible for a drug-related offense. This requires a conviction, a guilty plea, a no-contest plea, or entry into a diversion program. If Chung fights the charges and wins exoneration, the league can do nothing.

Unless the wheels of justice move more quickly than they usually do, this case won’t be resolved until at the 2019 season, at the earliest. Thus, the league will do nothing — indeed, the league can do nothing — until the case ends, at the earliest. While this doesn’t prevent the Patriots from making roster decisions in light of the allegations against Chung, it definitely keeps the league from imposing any sort of sanction.

I suspect Goodell will actually come down really hard on this one, with a 10 week suspension for Chung, likely for weeks 20-30 of the season.

Steelers Takeaways 🌗
@PittsburghSport

You wouldn't know it, but since January 2016 the @Steelers are tied for the LEAST number of players arrested in the NFL. With ONE.

GB leads with 9
Jets had 8
Bengals and Rams with 7
Dallas, Philly, AZ and Denver with 6#Steelers

NFL suspends Lance Kendricks one game
By Michael David Smith | Aug 24, 2019, 4:25 PM EDT

Patriots tight end Lance Kendricks will not be available for the first game of the season.

The NFL has suspended Kendricks one game for violating the NFL policy on substance abuse, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. He’ll miss the Sunday night opener against the Steelers in Week One.

Kendricks was sentenced to probation last month for marijuana possession. The Patriots signed him after the sentencing, so they knew going in that a suspension was possible.

The Patriots will also be without tight end Ben Watson for the first four games of the season while he serves a suspension, so they’ll be thin at the position to start the season.

That BB runs a tight no nonsense ship right? oh wait, never mind.

It's interesting how Steelers fans like to trash the Steelers for their lack of leadership and discipline when other teams around the league have similar issues.

It really boils down to win vs losses. Win and everything is "ok" even with "issues". Lose and people like to bring up nonsense excuses like leadership and disciple as key factors. The Steelers were not that far away from making the playoffs last year. What happened out on the field had more to do with this team not making the playoffs than the manufactured fake issues that people like to bring up.

Patrick Chung pleads not guilty to cocaine possession

Posted by Josh Alper on August 26, 2019, 10:29 AM EDT

Patriots safety Patrick Chung was indicted on a felony cocaine possession charge in New Hampshire last week and the legal proceedings associated with the case continued on Monday.

The Associated Press reports that Chung waived a court appearance on the charge by pleading not guilty through a lawyer. Another court appearance has been set for November 8.

Police responded to a “call for service” at Chung’s residence on June 25 and found the evidence that led to the indictment. Chung was not arrested at the time.

Chung is subject to discipline under the league’s substance abuse policy if he’s convicted pleads guilty or no contest or enters a diversionary program to resolve the charges. With the next court date not until November, it seems unlikely that resolution will come during the 2019 season.
