Given Mr Rooney's " Rooney Rule " and the fact that six African American coaches have already been given their walking papers, the chances of MT being fired are about the same odds as my last Mega Millions ticket! Buckle up boys we are in for more of the same!!

I heard that yesterday and its absolutely fn ridiculous.
Who cares what color a coach is.
On the other hand can you imagine if Tomlin was a white guy?
AB would probably be claiming he's a racist:rolleyes:

I would say that the majority of people out there don't care about the race of a HC. However, in this case, the majority doesn't rule. Somebody will claim racism even when it doesn't exist. It's today's society.

Well Pete, he's already calling RC an Uncle Tom. Rumors are he's pissed about Tomlin's relationship with Ben, so what's next? Tomlin's an Uncle Tom for favoring the white QB? I HATE when race comes into play with this crap, it's everywhere these days, but when the term Uncle Tom starts getting tossed around, we know where this is heading......

Yeah, this is where we are at. It's about getting the job done. Period. Regardless of race. Pissed that a HC and a franchise QB have a good relationship? More insanity from AB. You always want your HC and QB to have a steller relationship.

I think it would be easier to argue that it's not racism without people harping on the Rooney rule.

It seems pretty clear that Tomlin was a much better choice that Grimm with or without the Rooney rule. Not sure how anyone could argue otherwise.

3 playoff wins in 8 years... that’s the bottom line.

So some posters were singing M Nagy's praises earlier about the turn around in Chicago and yet they are sitting at home today.

Personally I have little opinion on him, but my point is you can have a great season of coaching and still not make it through the playoffs.
There are many things that are beyond a coach's control. (Although the locker room is not one of them.)

I was not singing Nagy's praises per say; I was referring to him in reference to being able to find good coaches and that good coaches are out there. He had a good first year for a coach who is also grooming a young QB.

I suspect the bottom line is the number of seasons (every season) the team was competitive and the number of seasons (8 out of 12) the team made the playoffs. Some of you continue to take the Steelers organization for granted.

Not for granted; different mind set. If your the bucs, the bengals or the cardinals, making the playoffs every year is acceptable. But to organizations and their fans that are used to winning Super Bowls, that isn't enough. That's what your confusing.

Bucs, Bengals, cardinals fans (organization) are happy with dog food (just making the playoffs)

Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, fans (organization) are not happy unless it's steak (winning super bowls) this is our mindset. And us Steeler fans don't apologize for our mindset.

I will respectfully disagree. Super Bowls are special and not something to "expect." Heck, there are a number of Steeler teams in our history that were better than other teams that won Super Bowls. Even the SB's that the team has won have been contested in the 4th quarter and could have gone the other way based on one or two plays.

Tomins seat is now hot, Porter- 1st domino, will there be more...If there is or isn't...Next year will be a huge year for various reasons...

Underachieving for a while now, more undiscipline this year, infighting, drama...

This next season will be it, one way or another...Play well ( without the drama ) make a run, and play good ball...Tomlin extended...

Falter, keep losing to severe underdogs, undisciplined, uninspired ball with drama involved...Tomlin fired

That simple...This is THE year! Tomlin seemed different at his presser, and I think there will be a different mindset/ culture...Has to be!

Not all fans are the same. I haven't confused anything. I am more realistic with the facts and as a result my expectations. The Steelers have only won 12% of the Superbowls. That's not a great championship win percentage. That's the nature of sports though. Fans are going to be disappointed more often than not if they ONLY expect to win the championship every year.

You take winning and making the playoffs for granted.

Well said and exactly how I feel. The hysteria is based on unrealistic expectations. We are way above the curve in a league that has done everything possible to make parity the norm.

Like I said I wonder how the critics would measure up in their own life if they held themselves to the same level of scrutiny as they do Tomlin and crew. I think we all know the answer to that!

What makes you better, or give you the right to go off on fans that dont share your optimism?

What makes it right for fans to go after an organization with the Steelers's track record? I don't believe it's right when people flat out trash an organization that does a lot of winning.

The win it all or it means nothing kinds of reminds me of the situation with AB. Fans don't get their way so they need to act out like AB.

Say it with me real slow........3 playoff wins in 8 years. This is what we are talking about. Not just one season. Lmfao!!!The problem is you are assuming the coach was the problem in each of those years they didn't win. Injuries to key players late in the season were a big part of the Steelers fate. Yes, part of the HC job is preparing 'next man up', but easier said than done, especially when replacing a top 3 player at their position.

2011: they lose Mendenhall to IR late in the season;
2012; Polamalu misses half the season; Ike Taylor misses the last month; very late in the season they lose Heath Miller, and Gilbert to IR
2013: Burress goes to IR, Pouncey goes to IR, Woodley goes to IR late in season
2014: Bell out for playoff; Steelers use RB committee of Harris & Tate...
2015: again no Bell late; Steelers use RB committee of Todman & Toussaint.... ; first season without Polamalu... Will Allen in...
2016: 2 playoff wins; lost to NE in Div. game
2017: lost the QB of the defense,.... Shazier late in season; completely changed how the defense played.

The year before, the Patriots were down in the Super Bowl big time to the Falcons without their number one receiver, Gronk. Check mate.

That means it's real! Everything about this feels super-legit!

Munchak would totally trash his current employer in an interview. And the guy that hired him would 100% tell the world about it on Twitter. That's what people do when they work in industries where everyone is in the same super small circle. It's a great way to stay employed because it screams "you can trust me"!

Maybe Papillon can translate "faux" for us. I think it's French for "FIRE TOMLIN"!

Remember, it's pronounced "foe" - as in enemy. And in the NFL, that means only one thing: the Patriots. Everyone's enemy.

There is no teacher but the enemy. No one but the enemy will tell you what the enemy is going to do. No one but the enemy will ever teach you how to destroy and conquer. Only the enemy shows you where you are weak. Only the enemy tells you where he is strong. And the rules of the game are what you can do to him and what you can stop him from doing to you.

Latching onto nonsense like this just illustrates the depths of desperation that those who hate Tomlin will go to in order to try to validate their fallacious arguments as the try to smear Tomlin for everything.

Next we will read that Tomlin had secret meetings with Russian agents at the Rivers Casino and colluded with them to bring down the TV ratings for the NFL.
