Steelers activate Adeniyi to 53-man roster

The Steelers have activated linebacker Ola Adeniyi to the team’s 53-man roster, it was announced today.

Adeniyi (pronounced ah-DAY-nee), No. 92, joined the Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Toledo following the 2018 NFL Draft. He was placed on the team’s Reserve/Injured List on Sept. 3 before being placed on the Reserve Injured;Designated to Return List on Nov. 21.

To make room on the 53-man roster, the Steelers released linebacker Matthew Thomas.

Sad to hear that Thomas was released. I thought he showed great promise in the preseason. Wonder if something was going on that we didn't hear about.

I am excited to see Ola get a chance, though. It'd be great if he got to Rivers a couple of times on Sunday.

He couldn't be any worse than TIMMONS - He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Timmons was a 1st round draft pick,and not a UDFA, and a very good player for a long time...And was an OLB coming out of college...

So obviously he was getting a ton more leeway

I imagine that Matthew Thomas will be added to the practice squad once he clears waivers.
