Let's see...we have James, Grimble, and DJ at TE ... with Green coming back next week ... seems like the Steelers have a glut at the position. But hey, with the way the injury bug has hit this team, who knows?

Yeah, this seems especially like a longshot. With Alejandro, he has some rare talent (his size). With his bro, I don't know how a guy can come in with little play experience, and progress faster than similar guys (James, Grimble) who've been doing it their whole lives.

Unless you're Lebron James.

6-5 230 olympic rugby 7s player....for those who dont know the rugby 7s is much much faster than traditional rugby.

Who knows...i remember when the eagles tried out AV as a DE, no one thought more than PS player and now hes our starting LT. Wouldnt be the first time they groomed a player into what they wanted him to be

I highly doubt they are considering him for anything more than the PS

He doesn't appear to have any actual football experience, so this is likely just seeing if it was someone who they might consider tendering a futures contract after the season, so that he could participate in our full offseason program. Unless he absolutely blows the doors off them in this workout, the only guy who should be even mildly concerned is our current practice squad TE RaShaun Allen, and even that is an awfully long shot right now. But who knows for the future, if he is the same kind of quick study and hard worker that his brother is.

Of course, knowing his brother's history as a WR at West Point converting to a DE with the Eagles and then an OT with the Steelers, we might just try out Inaki at TE, and then convert him to the pass rushing OLB that we are searching for right now...

Maybe they could get a few pounds on him and have Munch work with him ... it might be nice to have another OT in the fold.

Some families just have that talent... I bet fake money he finds a way to make this team and contributes in a few years on the cheap.

A few pounds? His brother outweighs him by 90 pounds. The other TE's on our roster outweigh him by 30 pounds.

Everyone complains about Shazier being too small to be a linebacker and Shazier is listed at 6'1" 230. This kid is listed at 6'4" 230...same weight but on a 3 inch taller frame, so he'd be skinnier than Shazier (if you trust these numbers). His closest comparison body wise on our current roster would be Landry Jones (6'4" 225).

Ehh, a few pounds in the NFL is 20 to 25 pounds.

Alejandro Villanueva, following his military service, weighed about 210 when he arrived at training camp with the Eagles (they tried him at DE). He put on 40 pounds during that training camp with them. Within a year of coming to the Steelers as an OT, he'd boosted his weight another 90 pounds, to about 340. So if Alejandro could put that on that kind of extra weight on his frame (somewhere in the neighborhood of 120-130 pounds altogether), I'm not so sure his brother couldn't do it, also.
