A Penn State running back has signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brandon Johnson inked the undrafted free agent deal Friday after participating in rookie mini-camp, according to a Penn State press release.

Johnson is the ninth player from the 2015 team to join an NFL team this year. Fellow Nittany Lion alum Jesse James is also on the Steelers roster.

“Couldn’t be happier for Brandon to have this opportunity with the Steelers,” head coach James Franklin said. “He was a tireless worker and valued member of our team. Fans really didn’t get to see everything Brandon was capable of because he battled some injuries during his time at Penn State, but he has a great chance to show his talent and work ethic at the next level.”

Johnson played in 12 games in 2015. He spent most of his time on special teams but also had four carries for 23 yards his senior year. That doubled his play time during his junior year stint.

Johnson earned a degree in rehabilitation and human services.

With his ST history compiled with his size(6'2,228), speed(4.43 fyd) and athleticism(39" vert.), I can see Toussaint looking over his shoulder a bit.

Just hold onto the rock!

Best of luck to the young man.
