It appears they may have lost last year's first round pick again for this season as well...

Ravens WR Breshad Perriman partially tears ACL

Breshad Perriman has encountered another setback.

The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver suffered a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee this week, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. Rapoport added that Perriman will undergo surgery to repair the tear this week.

Perriman injured his knee on the last day of the Ravens' OTAs.

Per Rapoport, the procedure will be performed by Dr. Andrews. No timetable has been set for the wideout's recovery window.

Perriman, who was selected 26th overall in the 2015 NFL draft out of Central Florida, suffered a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sprain in his right knee on the first day of training camp last year. The Ravens placed Perriman on sending-ending injured reserve.

Too bad for them.

That's a big loss for them. They have to count on 37 year old Steve Smith staying healthy - the rest of their WRs are awfully unimpressive.

And old man Smith is coming off an Achilles tear himself...who knows when he will be able to contribute fully at this point.

Can't see Boldin returning. Not much out there, unless they convince Megatron to come out of retirement.

Maybe kick the tires on Hartline???

(not that the Hartline option scares me. In the least.)

Very true. If that sapped his burst or explosion at all, he might be cooked.

I completely forgot that they had Mike Wallace until I looked at their roster. Not that he concerns me at all.

Breshad Perriman does not have ACL tear, will be “fine” for season

The recently snake-bitten Ravens can exhale, at least at to one of their players sporting proverbial dual puncture wounds.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, receiver Breshad Perriman does not have a torn ACL. He received a stem-cell injection on Tuesday from Dr. James Andrews. Perriman currently is expected to be fine for the 2016 season.

He missed all of his rookie year due to knee problems. Last week, he injured the other knee.

Perriman, a first-round pick in 2015, was supposed to replace Torrey Smith as the deep threat in the team’s offense. For now, it looks like last week’s incident won’t keep that from happening.

That doesn’t mean something else won’t be happening to Perriman, given that the injury snakes seem to be pretty much everywhere for the Ravens.

The Dolphins and Vikings also want to forget they had Wallace on their rosters.

Does it seem to anyone else as though there's been an awful lot of "bad" reporting this year?

In the world of Twitter-based reporting, it doesn't have to be RIGHT...it just has to be FIRST.

Mike Wallace didn’t pass Ravens conditioning test

The Ravens haven’t officially signed tackle Jake Long yet because he wasn’t able to pass a physical and he’s not the only member of the team whose fitness was found to be lacking as the team gets set for training camp.

The team announced Wednesday that wide receiver Mike Wallace, who signed with the team as a free agent following his departure from the Vikings, failed to pass his conditioning test. Wallace will need to pass that test before he’ll be permitted to practice with the team.

There doesn’t appear to be a major issue keeping Wallace from passing the test. The Ravens’ tweet announcing his failure said that they expect him to pass it in the next few days and coach John Harbaugh said, via the Baltimore Sun, that Wallace passed five of the six benchmarks required by the team.

It’s not the best first step, but it should be forgotten fairly soon if Wallace is on the field soon and making plays down the field once games start.

Their test must have something to do with physical contact and Wallace must have gone the wrong way or fell into a fetal position
