How long should it be for? I would say 3 to 4 years with getting a replacement in 2...

I just hope he never wears an AZ uni or any other uni. Keep him for life.

Ben's Contract will likely be 6 yrs taking him up to his last likely year.

Now that we know how Brady operates, doesn't Ben look that much more precious?

I hope so...

Most end of career contracts extend to or beyond their expected final years.

I would say BEN gets 6 or 7 .... it extends him to 39ish and it lessens the Signing Bonus over the course of the contract.

I'm guessing that they give him a 6 year deal, but the last year would have a balloon payment that he will never actually see, just to make the overall numbers look more impressive, while also giving us another season to spread the signing bonus out a bit more.

"Balloon Payment" Perfect way to put it.
Most players don't see their balloon payments unless they're on the top of their game.

Like this year. Troy and Heath won't see their Balloon Payments.
Like IKE last year.

Ben should get something similar to Flacco
Joe Flacco signed a 6 year / $120,600,000 contract with the Baltimore Ravens, including a $29,000,000 signing bonus, $29,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $20,100,000. I would expect Ben would be looking for about $40M guaranteed.

Whatever the final value of the contract is, Ben's camp will likely be looking for roughly half of it to be guaranteed. However, all of those guaranteed dollars don't necessarily have to be signing bonus spread out evenly over the length of the entire contract. You could guarantee his base salary as well for the first couple of seasons, and perhaps even a guaranteed roster bonus to be given between the first two seasons of the new deal, for instance.

Yep, I hope it's structures so he can retire and we save a little bit of money on the last year or 2.

But Flacco is the best QB in the NFL.
