during the game tonight; a team that starts 0-2 has a 12% chance of getting to the playoffs.

So it looks like Week 2 will tell the tale of the Steelers/Bengals season.

Hmmm I here this too however 12% is still a real number and is by no chance 0% .... None the less, lets go Steelers!!

Win or lose there are going to be 2 teams in the NORTH only 1 game back with a ton of football left to play.

Bengals have the Packers next week, The ravens have the Texans.

For all those fans who are in Panic mode just play the elimination game. Write down who you feel will win the divisions and then cross off the other teams in the AFC who dont have a shot at the playoffs.

Here's my list of not making the playoffs: Browns, Jets, Raiders, Chargers, Bills, Jax, Dolphins, Titans,
Divison Winners: Broncos, Pats, Texans, ????

4 divisions winners +the 8 teams i already eliminated = 12 out of 16 teams.

4 teams left for 2 playoff spots and look who is the playoff HUNT after just week 1. YEP!! our Steelers. (Colts, Chiefs, Steelers, and either the Ravens/Bengals). If you want to be brave and throw in the Titans because they now own the Tie Breaker go right ahead but then we are 1 in 5 teams fighting for 2 wildcards.

So again i say RELAX!

As someone who studied math, this is a case of using numbers to tell the wrong story.

Mix math and football is like mixing anchovies and ice cream.

The thing about odds is that they change with every game.

An 0-2 team have a 12% chance, but a 1-2 team (after 3 weeks) will probably have a slightly different (better) chance. A 2-2 team then becomes a higher one, and so on.

(I'm trying to rationalize it, because I think we'll lose this week.)
