He loves Pittsburgh, wanted to go there, is very mature, humble, and a man who goes to God. I love it. We got the best defensive player in this draft.

He looks like he needs to hit the weight room. Pretty sure Ike has bigger guns than him. Don't the Steelers have something written into LB's contracts about bicep circumference?

plus 1. Didn't know much about him, but I was sold on a guy after watching the interview.

The one thing that's a shame is he's not gonna get the chance to learn from watching Harrison. It woulda been even sweeter if he coulda just followed James around for a year and did everything James does.

Sure Dub. Wait until after the draft before coming out for this guy. You didn't mention him once pre draft! :D

I think all of Steeler Nation said a prayer he'd land in Pittsburgh.

Worilds has a set of guns on him. Hope those guns pay off for the Steelers.

Hopefully Jones will make Worlids and Woodley better players.

I haven't heard much mentioned about Jones' versatility. Could this kid be coached up to play ILB? Seems like he has the IQ for it anyways.

That may be the plan because Jones can indeed play ILB. I kinda doubt it though because his best asset is his ability to rush the edge.

I still feel worlids has a break out year this year but I love the jones pick.

I hope they don't try to move him inside

On the other hand, I hope they try to get him on the field to do what he does best, beat down the AFCN quarterbacks.

Very true I just see being way more productive off the outside getting after the qb

Why cant we just let him roam and do whatever he wants? Who cares if theres 3 OLBs on the field together?

I agree I was just saying he would be more productive off edge than inside lb

I agree with you, I think he would get caught up too much in the wash on the inside.

He just never looked fast in his highlights, that's my only concern. He was always in the right spot though, and I think that's more valuable.

Or i just expect to much speed from folks.

ETA: That being said, I have a good feeling about him. I hope he's a beast. I hope he's mean too, just on the field though.

What are you guys talking about? Putting a guy with spinal (neck) issues at a position (ILB) where he will have his neck compressed regularly and as a given, would be the height of stupidity. The guy doesn't need to be headbutting Offensive Guards and Fullbacks every day in practice and games.

why would we move a guy his size inside? Let him do what he has been doing in college... he looks like a natural on the edge and is a little light IMO.

We already have an OLB that did just that. Jason Worilds spent all of last year lifting weights with Harrison. Worilds is supposedly hitting this off-season with great gusto.

I'm ok with the Jones pick at 17, but lets not discount Jason Worilds yet.

Worilds is the guy I'm most excited about. With his size/speed combo, I think he could be on the trajectory of a 15+ sack season if he can stay healthy.

Wouldn't it be crazy if all the guys come into camp in shape and stay healthy. Everyone's asleep on the Steelers, but I think this year could be it if just a couple guys work a little harder.

We can talk all we want about the "D", but it will really come down to Big Ben's health and the offense IMHO.

Special teams weren't very special IMO either.

A different set of guns than the man he is replacing in the lineup:

This.

If the Steelers average <= 22 ppg, then no playoffs again this season (and that is assuming the defense stays in top form).

He played a little bit of a rover position in college at times, and I'd love to see some passing sets with Jones, Woodley and Worilds on the field at the same time.

That would require flexibilty in the defense. Der Fuhrer can't allow deviation from the scheme regadless of talent.

Troy, Timmons, and Keisel have all been allowed to line up where they choose.
