What are your thoughts on this Florida safety? Is he B & G material? A quick google shows he has decent height, speed & physically he looks like he come could up and stop the run. He looks like he could be a playmaker also.

He's a good player, I see him as very similar to Bob Sanders. Hopefully he can stay healthier than Sanders.

However, I like D.J. Swearinger or Philip Thomas in the 2nd. Elam will be a late 1st or early 2nd round pick. His size will hurt him, but damn he is a hammer.

Thanks for the feedback. I just saw him in a Bowl game and there was something about him that stuck out. I will keep my eye on the guys you mentioned.

I like Swearinger too, but also like Tony Jefferson from Oklahoma. We could get one of them in Round 3.

Elam is a missile. He is a great nickel corner and can play either safety spot. In some ways, he reminds me of Troy.

I am not sure he is worthy of the 17 th pick. But, I think he is the best safety in this class.

I agree with your assessment. Elam had 11 TFL's. From the safety position? Yeah that is a lot like Troy. If we were drafting at the back end of round one he would be a lot more appealing to me too.
