The #80 jersey he wore here is still available. The #17 jersey he wore for the two New Jersey teams isn't.

Well, if you are going there, you might as well ask if this team could go to the Super Bowl with Brett Favre as its QB. After all, the Steelers are used to having a drama queen as its QB. ;)

Dang forgot about Brett Farve.

Brett Farve is ok as long as he does not send pics of his private parts to masseuse..:D

Pull the trigger....wait, this is Favre, not Burress.

On a positive note, Favre already knows Ben's secret offense - scramble around, buy time, and look for Wally deep. We could call him Little Ben.

Brian Hoyer never gave Mary's brother Warren piggyback rides, though!

A white backup quarterback? Say it isn't so...

Steelers set to sign Plaxico, Brian Hoyer
Posted by Darin Gantt on November 20, 2012, 12:56 PM EST

The Steelers wore the 1934 throwbacks Sunday night, but they might need to break out their 2003 unis this week.

With Charlie Batch scheduled to start because of injuries to Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich, the Steelers are apparently going to sign Plaxico Burress to go with him.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter said the Steelers were expected to sign Burress after watching him work out earlier today.

Per multiple reports, they’re also signing quarterback Brian Hoyer, to give them another healthy arm on the roster.

If it makes you feel better, from a distance he almost looks like Charlie Batch's illegitimate love child.

And based on how old Charlie Batch is, that is not necessarily out of the realm of possibility. ;)

Get the kid to a tanning salon, stat! It's all about the melanin, baby.

#17 will be available next year if he wants to wait.

I was just talking about Burress in another thread, the one about Wallace dropping the pass. Burress is a great red zone target. I just have to wonder if this means that AB is hurt worse than expected? Great move though.

White AND he didn't play in the MAC either. This team is losing its' identity quick.

Next year, Burress should be eligible to start receiving Social Security checks, though.

Ab is questionable, so he's improving

Burress?? Not excited. I'm actually not sure why anyone who likes the Steelers would be.

If the Steelers had to sign an over-the-hill, former Steelers WR I'd have rather seen them sign Hines instead.

Swann and Stallworth looked like they were in good shape at the team's 80th birthday celebration at halftime of Sunday night's game.

Cotch is out next week as well. Without signing Burress we would be down to three healthy WRs and Gilreath wasn't on the active roster a week ago.

I'm trying to think of other Steelers who started out with us, left for a while, then came back again. Right now, Willie Williams, Chad Brown, and Plaxico Burress come to mind. Others I am missing?

Maybe the Steelers signed Plax to be a personal consultant to Mike Wallace.

Plax to Wallace: "Listen dude... you should have just accepted the Steelers offer of ~50/mil. The Rooney's aren't playing around...Oh and by the way.. The lack of effort, the dropped passes, etc definitely isn't making you any richer. If you go to a different city, bad things will happen. Don't shoot yourself in the foot or in my case, the leg."
