Looks like they will be without their starting RG and their starting RDE for the opener:

I talked to a collegue at work today who is huge Packers fan/stockholder. Packers are decimated at RB right now even with Benson. Just lost their leading tackler from last year for the season.

At the rate we're going, we may not have a RB or an OL on the team by the opener...

So much for the CBA limiting the off season workouts so the players can save their bodies. The opposite seems to be happening.

IMO it is always better working out in a structured environment under the supervision of your normal coaches and trainers.

What are the rules on injury reports in preseason. Can a team sit healthy players in preseason or is it mandatory to dress and play players if they are deemed healthy? Just wondering how many of these injuries are real... I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these guys magically heal by game 1.

Denver linebacker facing suspension

8/17/2012
Associated Press

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Linebacker D.J. Williams was absent from the Denver Broncos’ practice Thursday morning, a day after being convicted on two charges in a Denver court.

Williams was found guilty of driving while ability-impaired and driving without his headlights, the offense that prompted police to stop him near downtown Denver about 3 a.m. on Nov. 12, 2010. Already facing a six-game drug suspension to start the season, Williams is subject to further punishment from the NFL because of his conviction on the impaired driving charge. The league said it will review the matter.

The leading tackler in five of his eight seasons in Denver, Williams hasn’t been working with the starters during camp, and he missed a practice earlier this month for personal reasons.
