Ravens holding lottery for fans to be able to watch practices
Posted by Darin Gantt on June 30, 2012, 11:59 AM EDT

With many NFL teams bypassing the old tradition of going away to training camp, many fans lost their best opportunity to see teams up close.

But the Ravens are going to allow a select few inside the gates of their own facility to get a glimpse of the work. Emphasis on “few.”

The team is having a lottery to let “fans in limited numbers,” into their behind-closed-doors practices, saying they can host 200 fans when they’re at their facility for 13 practices this summer.

Registration for the lottery is available on the team’s website for those sessions. Because of space limitations, even one of their three “open” practices (at Stevenson University on Aug. 19) is subject to a lottery as well.

Fans have two weeks to apply, and the Ravens have set up separate pages for PSL owners and non-PSL owners. The skeptic in me has to wonder how good the chances are for the non-paying customers to ever get behind the curtain.
