Appreciating the Greatness of Noll's 4-SB Dynasty.

Dynasty continues to this day. We're just on Emperor3.
The accomplishments this team has earned over 40 years of football are 2nd to none.
6 Lombardi Trophies
Most Championship games played in by any team
Most division titles than any other team
Tied for most playoff wins with Dallas
Most wins during reg. season
I would say that the Dynasty continues......

I would say that there is a good chance that there are more Steelers in the HoF who played in those 40 years than any other franchise during the same time as well...
I'd have to research it, but I'd bet that I'm right...

I think its difficult to analyze such things.
You almost have to join them before comparison.
Noll+Bradshaw is better than Bellichick+Brady....as of today.
Noll never won a SB without Bradshaw though obviously, his defense helped alot in winning the first two.
And Bellichick barely won his first couple and had a more complete team than he does now as Brady matured.
Same with Montana and Walsh...which I think is the best duo.
Neither won without the other.
Now had Montana gone to KC and won a Super Bowl, then I think he would be the obvious choice.
Or hadn't SF now won one immediately after Walsh and Montana had left with Seifert and Young. I think things would have been more clear cut.
Some day a Coach will win 3 or more SB with different teams or different QBs and that will enhance their legacy. Or a QB will win with different teams. Had Warner won all 3 SBs he was in on 2 different teams, he might be considered higher. It was impressive to go from grocery boy to taking 2 different teams to the SB...but he didn't win. And to the victor goes the spoils.
Well Belechik and Brady did surpass Levy and Kelly by winning 5 AFC Championships together. LOL With these Super bowl loses the Pats are starting looking more like the 90's Bills than the 70's Steelers.

Sorry, I did leave one out...
The most players/coaches named to the Hall of Fame over the past 40+ years!
This tells it all right there.. And let's not forget that we have a few more lined up ready to go in. It's a shame that LC isn't in there, then we have the Bus, Kevin Greene, and soon- Hines Ward in 5 or 6 yrs....
Go Steelers!

And yea, f*****g Dirt Dawson is finally in!!! Congrats again!

It really does put into perspective how amazing the accomplishments of the 70s Steelers teams were.

One word ends the comparison of BB to Noll...SPYGATE! Noll never needed to cheat to win!
As for Walsh and Montana they won 3 SB's together not 4. Montana did win without Walsh Super Bowl XXIV vs Denver 55-10.
