http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2012/1/6 ... redictions (http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2012/1/6/2686334/2012-compensatory-draft-pick-predictions)

This guy is using the now retired AdamJT13's methodology. He has us getting two 7th round picks for Spaeth (3 years 6 million) and Eason (2 years 2 million). He does not count Cothchery (1yr, vet minimum) in his formula.

It isn't much, but there could be some talent at the end of this draft. It also gives the mock drafters more chances to nab their late round gems.

Cotchery wouldn't count because he was released. Keyaron Fox was also signed by somebody, but it was a minimum deal, also unlikely to count.

Word has it that the Wisconsin punter Nortman has looked good at the Senior Bowl practices so far. Using a 7th round comp pick on him to compete with Kapinos might not be a bad idea. As for kickers, perhaps the Bullock kid from Texas A&M to compete with Suisham? I'm not overjoyed with either of our incumbant ST specialists at this point.

Kapinos is serviceable, but not a weapon. It's a shame that the 49ers matched the Steelers offer sheet to Andy Lee back in the day.

I'm not thrilled with Suisham or Kapinos, but of the two, my preference would be to replace Suisham.

It amazes me from all the college players that there are, there are so few that bring the impact that you would like after the 1st and 2nd round. Not to say the others are not good but, just the luck or position of the draft to get a good OT or Nt or what ever position. Used to be that runningbacks were the most sought after players and obviously QB's and other sexy positions but now, it seems just as difficult to get a impact lineman, kicker and so on.
Maybe that the talent is so good everywhere with these teams that, a average Joe gets exposed.
