Cause on Sunday it's all over. Last games for your Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. They are done. And all these years you've had them to rely on (your defense), now you will have to rely on Joe Flacco next season going forward.

Not sure what's so funny... we said the same thing to them this off season and they killed us.

Flacco isn't a beast but he isn't chopped liver.... the Pats D is pretty stinky too.

It is believed that win or lose Lewis (37 next year), and Reed (34 next year), will retire.

That well is about to run dry. Those are two you just dont easily replace.

I think losing in another AFCCG would stop them from retiring... and we've been hearing about these 2 leaving for a while now.

I haven't seen anything to suggest either are ready to move on.

Adam Schefter has reported it may be a foregone conclusion.

But so be it. Bring'em back at 37 and 34. I love it. They both have broke down with injuries the past two years. It isnt going to get better. Right now they both are running on fumes.

I hate the ravens just as much as anyone, if not more. But you have to be an idiot to talk junk to them now. They're in the afc championship, beat us twice and we're sitting at home.

Talking smack because ray ray and reed may retire? Weak...

I dont think so. I hate the Ravens. So what they play one more post season game than the Steelers? What do you get for two and done? Nothing. I want to see them fall. And I will enjoy it when it happens. And It is coming next year. I dont have any desire to give them any respect.

"We're sitting at home?" Are kidding me? So we have to show them respect? We can't win every year. We have more Super Bowl Championships than any team in football. That's the scoreboard between the Ravens and Steelers that matter. Not that they beat us twice this year.

Both Reed and Lewis are playing at a very high level right now. I don't have anything but respect for their game.

I hate the Rats as much as anyone else, but if they don't get a ring this year, I won't be surprised to see them come back next year and play well again.

And if they don't come back for some reason, Baltimore has done a good job of plugging in new bodies and doing well.

I disagree with your entire premise except that we both hate the ravens. So to flip it, last year should mean nothing to them after beating them three times because we only played one more game than themand lost the superbowl? Doesn't make any sense. I gloated like no other last year, and when you so that, you have to expect the same in return.

Dee dub,

I think you need to re read my posts. Im not saying we should be happy if they win. Im saying that I hope they lose. Pray to Tim Tebow that they lose, but they still kicked our ass this year. And because of that we don't have any room to run our mouths this year. Unless you're one of those fans that can go winless and still run the mouth.

I guess that must be you.

Probably not at the top of the list (but sure it would be on it somewhere), is someone telling someone how to be a fan and what is proper and not proper on how to dislike a rival. Implying that there are rules on when and how you can dislike that rival. That too me doesnt sound all that manly. But what do I know?

I will NEVER root for Baltimore to win, even against the Pats. In fact, if either Harbaugh makes it to the SB, I may not watch it all together. They have to be 2 of the smuggest, jerks to ever be NFL coaches. Yes, they beat us twice this year, but that doesn't mean I have to respect or give them credit. When have they ever given the Steelers credit when we beat them? All their coach did was make excuses and even said they were still the better team. I hope they choke and choke hard.

Uh, yes Dee, you sort of should. You should be in the habit of deeds before words, cash (in your account) before making purchases (or "writing checks").

In this case, I can easily see the Ratbirds beating the Cheats* this weekend. I'm not really sure who I want to see lose more... I suppose I will root against the Pats* more, for fear of them winning a 4th SB.

I want an exact duplicate of the SB in 2007 with the same results (GO GIANTS!)... with no Harbaugh going to the big dance at all. As for respect heaped to the Ravens, I have a ton of respect for Reed and Ray Ray as leaders of their team. They're noted as mentoring younger team mates and are said to spend countless hours in the film room dissecting their opponents to increase their team's level of play. Those examples of professionalism and work ethic I can respect and whatever trash talking gets done on and off the field... Hell, that's what a rival is suppose to do. I think their coach is effective but a classless turd, just like his brother.

With that being said, I hope Brady hangs 50+ on them. Phuck the Ravens!!! (Just so we're clear, that's not trash talking, that's just wishing your rivals a poor outing)

Baltimore has winning formula

Monday, January 16, 2012
By David Ginsburg, The Associated Press

BALTIMORE -- If style points and offensive fireworks meant anything, the Baltimore Ravens wouldn't stand a chance of making it to the AFC championship.

Playing defense and protecting the football are what they do best, and that formula led to a 20-13 victory against the Houston Texans Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium, putting Baltimore in the AFC title game against the New England Patriots.

"I always say there is a right way to do things, there is a wrong way to do things and there is just the Ravens' way of doing things," linebacker Terrell Suggs said. "It wasn't pretty but we're not really a pretty team. We got the 'W' and now it's on to the AFC championship."

The Ravens (13-4) had almost as many punts (nine) as first downs (11) and scored only three points over the final 46 minutes. But Baltimore wasn't penalized once, didn't commit a turnover, intercepted rookie quarterback T.J. Yates three times and totaled four takeaways -- two in the first quarter and two over the final eight minutes.

"If we didn't get any of those turnovers it would probably be a different game," Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata said.

Baltimore visits New England Sunday at Gillette Stadium, with the winner advancing to the Super Bowl XLVI Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Patriots lead the series, 6-1, but Baltimore's lone win came in the postseason.

"We don't play the game until next week," Suggs said. "I'm going to enjoy ... ."

Veteran defensive stars Ed Reed and Ray Lewis led a unit that yielded only one touchdown and came up with the big play when one was needed. Lewis had a team-high seven tackles and Reed sealed the victory with the Ravens' fourth takeaway, an interception near the goal line in the closing minutes.

"It's winning by any means necessary," Reed said. "That's what it's got to be."

The Ravens finished 9-0 at home, but this one was anything but easy. Baltimore led, 17-3, after the first quarter, and interceptions by Lardarius Webb and Reed in the final 7 1/2 minutes helped the advantage stand up.

Reed has eight interceptions in 10 playoff games, few bigger than his most recent one.

"You can't say enough about him," Ravens linebacker Jarret Johnson said. "His big plays always seem to happen when you need one."

One week earlier, in the first playoff game in Texans history, Houston didn't commit a turnover in a 31-10 home rout of Cincinnati. Against Baltimore, the Texans couldn't hold onto the ball and quickly fell behind by two touchdowns.

Arian Foster ran for 132 yards, the first player to rush for 100 yards against the Ravens in the postseason. But Yates' three interceptions matched the total he had in six regular-season games.

"I can't have the turnovers," Yates said. "If we don't turn the ball over like that, we have a chance to win. And we still had a chance to win. If I'd done a better job of protecting the football, I really think we'd have come out with the win today. We did a good job of moving the ball and we had some big plays, but you can't have that many picks."

Down, 17-13, at halftime, Houston twice held the Ravens without a first down in the third quarter before driving to the Baltimore 32. From there, Neil Rackers' 50-yard field-goal try hit the crossbar and dropped into the end zone.

Baltimore then launched a drive in which seldom-used Lee Evans made a sensational one-handed catch for a 30-yard gain on third-and-5 from the Houston 39. On fourth-and-goal inside the 1, Ray Rice was stuffed by linebacker Tim Dobbins for no gain.

"That's a huge play," Houston defensive end J.J. Watt said. "Those are the type of plays that win playoffs games. Obviously, we wish it had gone the other way, but those are the type of plays that you remember."

The Texans couldn't move the ball, and the Ravens took the ensuing punt at the Houston 49. But three plays netted only 4 yards, and Sam Koch punted for the seventh time.

Minutes later, the Ravens went three and out for the fourth time in five second-half possessions. Fortunately for Baltimore, the defense compensated for the team's inability to add to its early lead.

"You have to do whatever you have to do to win a football game," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.

Webb's second interception came with 7 1/2 minutes left and the Ravens clinging to 17-13 advantage. Baltimore moved 45 yards to get a field goal by Billy Cundiff with 2:52 left.

Houston's Danieal Manning muffled the record crowd of 71,547 by taking the opening kickoff 60 yards to the Baltimore 41. Yates then completed two consecutive passes, and after the Ravens stuffed Foster on a third-and-1, Rackers kicked a 40-yard field goal.

Baltimore failed to get a first down on its first possession and had to punt. Jacoby Jones inexplicably attempted to field the bouncing ball at the 13, was immediately hit by Cary Williams and lost the ball, which was recovered by Baltimore rookie Jimmy Smith at the 2. On third down, Joe Flacco threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Kris Wilson -- the tight end's first catch of the season.

After a Houston punt, Flacco completed a 21-yard pass to Anquan Boldin to set up a 48-yard field goal for a 10-3 lead.

As much as I hate them, no issues with Baltimore winning. They earned it when they beat us in Pittsburgh because we couldn't play defense for the last minute of the game.

I don't think Balt. wins this game and I would hate to see the Patriots win another Super Bowl and hear about how they are the best team of the 21st Century. I'll be pulling for whoever wins in the NFC hopefully the Giants.
