"Troy Polamalu passed a concussion test this week and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said today that he is "good to go" for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

He expects last season's NFL defensive player of the year to practice Wednesday.

Polamalu left last Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with "concussion-like symptoms," according to the coach.

Guard Doug Legursky, however, will miss two weeks after having surgery on his dislocated toe, according to the coach. He also does not expect to have defensive linemen Casey Hampton or Aaron Smith available for the game in Arizona.

It's Hood, Heyward, Kiesel, Hoke and McClendon time folks, I doubt we ever see Kiesel, Hampton and Smith as a defensive line unit again. The time has come for reality to set in for Hampton and Smith.

Polamalu Will Play at Arizona, Legursky Out A Number Of Weeks

Troy Polamalu is set to start against the Cardinals. He passed his concussion tests. Tomlin talked about Troy on the cell phone and said he was calling his wife to let her know he was okay. He "hopes common sense prevails" when talking about a possible fine.

Doug Legursky will have surgery on his dislocated toe and miss a number of weeks.
Casey Hampton and Aaron Smith are questionable to return the next game. That is what Tomlin said, but I think he means doubtful.

Chris Hoke is also listed as questionable, but his chance to play is higher than Smith and Hampton.

With Legursky out, it appears that Chris Kemoeatu will return from his knee injury this week.

Mike Wallace has a slight hamstring issue and will be limited in practice this week.

Jason Worilds should be healthy enough to play this week, but Tomlin did not guarantee he would start at ROLB instead of Timmons.

Marcus Gilbert will return to practice this week.

Mewelde Moore will also return to practice this week.

James Harrison will not play, but will stand on the sideline and look mean.

I can't remember, when exactly did Hampton become a waste of gravity?

Or will he look again good when he gets to play next to the diesel again?

Anyone else think we should just let Troy rest up for the Pat's game??

Allowing him to come back too soon last season contributed to us losing the SB. I know its a different injury. Just think we'd be ok without him against the Cards. But we'd be in trouble if he can't go vs. the Pats.

Nah...I don't need to see Larry Fitzgerald running through our secondary with Ryan Mundy there to offer safety help over the top.

Polamalu has been one of the most consistent performers on our team this year.
I don't think the Arizona game is a gimme, and we need the win...we'd better have Troy in there.

Like this?? :stirpot

Kolb isn't Kurt Warner. I think we'd be ok without Troy starting. Have him ready to go if necessary. Just don't push him back in too early. But if he's really 100% then yeah, he should play.
