Alameda Ta' Amu is a flat out beast. Can you imagine him with Heyward and Hood on each side of him?

But I guess Heyward and Hood need to get on the field first though, huh?

I have seen that Holiday Bowl game. And he did make a couple of big plays, especially the safety. But he is not a NT. He was on a 4-man Line, and he likes it that way. He has had past battles with not wanting to work hard, and getting out of shape. He's gotten it together the past 2 years, but one,,,he scares me as not being a dedicated worker. But mostly, he is not a NT!

He doesn't look like a 3-4 nose tackle to me. He is big but he doesn't anchor well. I think he plays high and relies too much on spin moves as well.

I think keeping McLendon on the roster might be a sign of things to come...

Hampton probably has another year in him.

He plays on a 4 man front because Washington runs a 4-3. But in a 3-4 he does project out as a NT. There are many out there who have said he could be better suited in a 3-4 as a NT.

What Rd is he expected to go? I don't think Steelers will draft a Rd.1 NT

I find it hard to imagine Steelers will have 3 1-st Rd pick on D-line. I think Steve Mclendon is the future NT for Steelers.

Ta'Amu is a strong, talented guy. But, in the 3 or 4 games I've seen, I find him very frustrating to watch. He lets smaller, weak centers push him back consistently on running plays. He should be commanding more double teams. I actually think he plays best as a pass rusher when he builds some momentum and gets a little lean before he contacts O-linemen. When pass rushing, he does command a double team, pushes the pocket, and is tall enough to bat some balls down. At this point in his career, he should be showing that he can get enough leverage to control smaller centers on running plays. Too often, it is the other way around.
