War Room Executive 2.0:

The Keeper Fantasy Football League that blends fantasy football scoring with your mock draft abilities.

I’ve developed a scoring system that allows you the opportunity to draft players (all NFL players) similiar to a NFL GM.

I’m only offering this to a select group of people that I trust will be competitive and knowledgeable.

Keep in mind that I’m not getting paid for this and there could be set-backs or glitches – so I ask for your patience and understanding.

What’s required of you is much simpler than your usual Fantasy Football leagues.

You’ll need to examine the players you have, on the available team you choose, and then draft (with the available draft points, based on the draft chart) players to round out your team.

http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php

Quite a bit of this game has been built off of the NFL Draft Chart – I understand that a number of fans don’t “love’ that concept, but in reality it’s the best way (perhaps the only way) to determine how the NFL determines a rookie’s potential worth.

You don’t adjust your team during the season – the only adjustments you make are after the Super Bowl when trading between teams takes place and then after the NFL Draft when we’ll conduct a draft of our own – draft order will be determined by your team’s overall score.

In future drafts - you will have the option of trading with other GM’s either Draft Picks or players (or both) – however there isn’t a waiver wire – and many of the most proven players are unavailable (no one gets Roethlisberger!).

Also in Future Drafts we will always have a team that gets the 1st Overall Draft pick, and a team that gets the 32nd Overall Pick…i.e. we’ll always have a worst team in the league and a Super Bowl winner.

***Again – you don’t adjust your teams during the regular season, so you can focus on your other leagues.

Scoring.

12 players will be selected to represent your best offense.

QB, RB, TE, WR, WR, Offensive Line (2 OT, 2G, 1 C)
And
One Additional RB – Running Team
or
One Additional WR- Passing Team
And
One Additional TE or FB – Depending on the higher score.

12 players will be selected to represent your Defense.

Defensively:

DE, DE, DT, ILB, OLB, OLB, CB, CB, SS, FS
And
One Additional DT – 4-3 Base
or
One Additional ILB – 3-4 Base
And either
One Additional CB or S – Depending on the higher score (Nickel).

Punting, Kicking and Kickoff and Punt Returns are also included in the scoring – so don’t forget about Special Teams!

I don’t expect you to fill your roster in the first year – it’s important you find a balance between drafting future stars and successfully taking care of need positions.

For now, I’m not releasing my scoring system (you’ll just have to trust me) however the following is a description of how the following positions are most likely going to score.

QB – The Best QB in the league will most likely have the most points in the league. The rest of the players have a percentage that indicates what % of points they are likely to score compared to the Quarterback. This percentage was drawn up using 14 years of recent NFL Drafts and comparing it to the NFL Trade Chart….

OT – 80%
DE – 73%
DT – 61%
RB - 59%
WR – 54 %
LB – 48 %
CB – 45 %
S – 35%
TE – 24%
G – 22%
C – 22 %
K – 7%
FB – 6%
P – 2%

A major difference between regular fantasy football and War Room Executive 2.0 –

**Post Season Stats Count – Super Bowl Players are given bonuses.
**Pro Bowl nominations (first ballot) are also given bonuses. Players who are “substitutes”, meaning they were not original selections are not given the bonus.

The First Draft –

The first draft has a few provisions.

You can select any players from the 2010 and 2011 NFL drafts, provided you have enough draft “points” to draft them (again see Draft Chart).

However (for this first draft) you can only draft two players from any one round in either year.

Example:

Two 2nd round players in 2010, and two 2nd round players in 2011 is okay
Three 2nd round players in 2010, and one 2nd round player in 2011 is not okay.

Additionally you can add 4 UDFA’s from either year.

Please show your work…it will save me a lot of time!

Example:

2010 – Sam Bradford = 3000
2010 – Jason Worilds = 380
2011 - Mario Harvey = UDFA

If you are satisfied with the team you have built so far, but have draft points left over it will be transferred and given to you in next year’s draft.

Example:

If you have 9 points left, you’ll be awarded an additional 7th round pick next year – which you can trade or utilize.

There will be a few additional rules before we do our draft next year....but let's cross that bridge when we get there.

The following are the teams, players and draft points you can begin with.

Draft Points are the points available you have for the first draft, and the players listed are the players you inherit on your team. Draft wisely because all of the players you select will be kept from here on out.

A number of teams feature players not currently on the franchise you're drafting for. I've tried to add a few Steelers as incentives.

I have no problem if people take the same teams - just take the teams you like best, and let's see what happens. Please list your team (completely drafted team) in this thread. I'd like it before the Steelers game on Sunday!

You still have 1279 points left to use....you can either use it now, or if you want save it as a 1st round 11th overall pick for the 2012 draft.

I appreciate you doing the scoring for me.

This was fun! I also used the Detroit Lions and was able to fill out a complete roster. I opted to have a passing offense with 3 WR's, 1 RB, 2 TE's, and no fullback. And I went for a 4-3 defense with an extra nickel corner.

I'm happy with my secondary, my o-line, and my weapons on offense. My weaknesses will be in my front 7 on defense (I hate not being all that strong up the middle at DT and ILB, but you can't have everything). I was tempted to go re-unite Ndomakong Suh with his Detroit teammates, but that 2nd overall pick is just so expensive (to fit in Suh at 2600, I would have to sacrifice both Patrick Peterson at 1700 and Maurkice Pouncey at 900, and even though Suh is an absolute beast, I couldn't pull that trigger).

Anyway, here's my roster (players Lonbull already included for me are in BOLD):

Detroit Lions:

QB MATTHEW STAFFORD
RB LeGarrette Blount (2010 UDFA) 0 pts.
TE Jimmy Graham (2010 3rd Rd) 120 pts.
TE/FB Aaron Hernandez (2010 4th Rd) 68 pts.
WR CALVIN JOHNSON
WR Mike Williams (2010 4th Rd) 96 pts.
WR/RB Antonio Brown (2010 6th Rd) 13.4 pts.
OT GOSDER CHERILUS
OT Rodger Saffold (2010 2nd Rd) 580 pts.
OG Rodney Hudson (2011 2nd Rd) 350 pts.
OG Will Rackley (2011 3rd Rd) 210 pts.
OC Maurkice Pouncey (2010 1st Rd) 900 pts.

DE CLIFF AVRIL
DE Da'Quan Bowers (2011 2nd Rd) 390 pts.
DT Kenrick Ellis (2011 3rd Rd) 124 pts.
DT Jerrell Powe (2011 6th Rd) 11.8 pts.
OLB LAWRENCE TIMMONS (in a 4-3 defense, he'd play OLB instead of ILB)
OLB Stevenson Sylvester (2010 5th Rd) 25 pts.
ILB Casey Matthews (2011 4th Rd) 62 pts.
CB Devin McCourty (2010 1st Rd) 680 pts.
CB Patrick Peterson (2011 1st Rd) 1700 pts.
CB/S Sam Shields (2010 UDFA) 0 pts.
SS T.J. Ward (2010 2nd Rd) 520 pts.
FS LOUIS DELMAS

I had 5959 points to play with, and used 5850.2 points to construct this team. That's a balance of 108.8 points unused, which can be rolled over into an early 4th round pick next year. Grabbing a couple of excellent UDFA from last year for free certainly helped.

EDIT:

After seeing D Rock selecting punters and kickers, I'm adding the following players for special teams:

K Alex Henery (2011 4th Rd) 54 pts.
P Chas Henry (2011 UDFA) 0 pts.

That leaves me with 54.8 points left over for next year (an extra late 4th round pick).

Did we need a kicker and punter too? Must have missed that. Then give me the Hen(e)ry rooks from the Iggles, kicker Alex Henery and punter Chas Henry. Henery was a 2011 4th round pick (54 pts.) and Henry was a 2011 UDFA (0 pts.). That's drops my leftover point total from 108.8 (early 4th round pick) to 54.8 (later 4th round pick).

Hey guys -

Thanks for bearing with me, I'm still ironing out the explanations and rules.

Just an FYI - you can carry up to 40 players....

Keep in mind I'm using the "best" scores for any of the starting positions.

You don't "have" to have a punter and kicker for this first season....but they do create points for your team.

****Also if anyone wants to draft Terrelle Pryor you can use 80 points to draft him.
3rd round 2011.

L.B.

RuthlessBurgher
09-06-2011, 04:31 PM
Oh we can carry up to 40 players, eh? Then let me use up my points for some late round depth:

I had 54.8 points to work with:

WR Denarius Moore (2011 5th Rd) 32.2 pts.

Down to 22.6.

RB James Starks (2010 6th Rd) 14.2 pts.

Down to 8.4.

OT J'Marcus Webb (2010 7th Rd) 4.2 pts.

Down to 4.2.

KR/PR/WR Marc Mariani (2010 7th Rd) 2.6 pts.

Down to 1.6

RB Baron Batch (2011 7th Rd.) He was drafted 232nd overall, and the value chart stops at 224 (2.0 pts.), so I'll say that Baron wipes out the remaining 1.6 left.

And finally, since I used up my two free 2010 UDFA slots but only one of my two free 2011 UDFA slots, I might as well get one more free guy. I was tempted to take Weslye Saunders, but I'm already pretty stacked at TE with Graham and Hernandez. Therefore, with my final selection, I'll take:

LB Mark Herzlich (2011 UDFA) 0 pts.

I squeezed ever last little bit out of that allotment, eh?

a few questions...

some of the teams listed have weak QBs already on the team. in the 12 offensive players we are to take, it does not list a 2nd QB or developmental QB of the future. i might take a team other than the lions if i were able to add another QB. if not, then lions it shall be.

is the scoring based only on the 26 "starters" or the entire 40 man roster?

is the scoring cumulative or different for each season?

Lonbull
09-10-2011, 07:05 PM
Steelblood -

You can carry more than one QB or different positions as you like - it's just the maximum you can carry is 40 players....you should take the players that you feel will be best for your team now - and in the future.

I wouldn't be concerned with "filling" your team in this one draft - the idea is to put together a team you like - for now and the future.

The scoring goes season to season - and the lowest score will have the highest draft position next spring.....highest score will have the 32nd pick in the draft order.

I'm going to adjust my team based on the new knowledge here....John Moffit, OG, is out. I'll add Colt McCoy (3.85, 165 points), which means I need to drop Navorro Bowman and get back 136 pts. My remaining points are now 254.5. Add James Starks at RB. Add Bill Nagy at OG, 2011 7.252 for 1 pt because he is past the listed values. Add Casey Matthews at 2011 4.116 for 62 pts. I believe this leaves me with 193.3 to carry over.

FS LOUIS DELMAS
K Alex Henery (2011 4th Rd) 54 pts.
P Chas Henry (2011 UDFA) 0 pts.

That's 32 out of a possible 40 roster spots filled with 0 points left for extra picks next year. The only thing that concerned me was that I only used one of my 2 possible 2011 1st round draft picks (and it would probably be a good idea to stockpile as many premium picks while we can), but when you decide to take a top 5 guy like Patrick Peterson, that prohibits what you can afford, and another 1st rounder was not possible after that.

Hey guys - I have some very bad news.

In short a few weeks before Christmas my apartment was broken into and my computers were stolen - (my main and my back-up) Unfortunately - all of my data (and my scoring tables) are gone - so I'm basically starting from scratch again in regards to putting together how scores are done for WRE.

My hope is to have something figured out before the end of March so that I can salvage this project. However I've started a new job and 12 hour days are pretty much the norm around here. (I'm not complaining - I"m very thankful to be working).

I'll do my best - as I would like to see this in action.
