gotta admit, I'm surprised that Crezdon Butler was cut. I thought he had potential, but guess that TD pass he got burned on against Carolina sealed his fate.

Bit bit disappointing, but I am more disappointed that Donovan Warren was cut.

I would have kept Hills over Chris Scott. Glad they kept McCLendon.

if no other team claims them, yes...but with the need for good CBs in the pass-happy NFL I would expect at least one of them to be claimed by another team.

chris scott showed absolutely nothing.

I also was surprised that Hills got cut as he seemingly was the front-runner for the starting job at RG just a couple of weeks ago whereas Chris Scott has shown very little to nothing.

Zackly, but I don't know cap implications.

Let's not forget, these coaches watch these guys in hours and hours of practices and drills. Fans watch twenty minutes of a preseason game. May not agree, but it is what it is.

True, but coaches make mistakes too. Why does the name Unitas keep popping in my head?

Just read on the site which we cannot copy that Steelers saved $1.2M by cutting Hills and keeping Scott. Still don't like it. Scott showed zilch.

I'm watching the game on NFLN right now and Butler just crushed the Panther punt returner. I think the guy showed potential and am sorry to see him go. I hope we get to sign him to the practice squad if he is eligible.

Does anybody else think this has been one of the best years in recent memory on the quality of backups we have fighting for a position. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. There are defensive lineman, linebackers and even defensive backs that I would like to see develop on this team but we just didn't have room for them.

I think that in any other year with regular OTAs and offseason workouts, the cuts would have looked different for the Steelers...

This is not a rebuilding team...
