Miguel Chavis came to the Steelers as an undrafted rookie DE from Clemson. As a 6-foot-5, 280-pound guy with decent athleticism, Chavis was gtiven a try at TE during a few camp practices, and now he's a full-time TE. He will now wear No. 46

Maybe this helps him make the PS. No way he was making the final 53 anyway although could he really be worse than Johnson?????

Probably just an experimental thing...at any rate we maybe we'll use less of the 3 TE set and run more 1TE sets with more WRs on the field...need to start using our strengths more this year.

I would agree with one proviso...the OL holds up. If the OL falters you will see 2 TEs so one or both can help with blocking.

At this point our Oline is in 'development'...hopefully Ben can last until it's developed. That's the scary part about this season for me. We got a ton of skill players but we may not be able to use them as we would like due to the lack of big guys up front.

I found it interesting that the Steelers moved defensive lineman Miguel Chavis to tight end.

Chavis made some plays against the Redskins and is very athletic, even at 285 pounds.

It's probable that this is a move made for practice squad purposes - to steal a spot because they're going to have to try to sneak some draft picks onto the squad, ie. a young corner or two and can save a spot by teaching Chavis to play tight end as well.

NE is known for doing this kind of thing. Just like in the real world, just because you have done one thing all your life, doesn't mean you can't be good at another when given the chance. (it's actually been known to re-invigorate lives.)

We need two studly TEs in Arians offense, I dont care how we get them.
