View Full Version : Thoughts on Browns

With the Browns switching to a 4-3 defense and a west coast offense this season, any one think the Steelers might struggle a little due to unfamiliarity? Heckert as their GM is quietly putting together some nice pieces for a competitive team. They might not be there this year, but I can see them at least moving passed the Bumgals. If McCoy can improve and stay on the field, the team might be able to reach 8-8.
Stuck in Browns land, it would be nice to watch at least some competitive football on Sunday instead of the joke teams they have had in the recent past.

I see what you're saying. It seems that the Browns are taking the steps that the Bengals are unwilling to take and seem to be building for the long term instead of just bringing in big-name free agents to try and save them.

quiet as its kept we have always kinda struggled with these guys.

Question though. Are there any successful West coast offenses that are run where weather is an issue late in the year?

Weve lost to them 3x in 10 years, we dont struggle with them.
They will suck and continue to suck...
Only bright spot they might have is Colt McCoy.

I thought the stains made some strides last season. Suprised they are switching things up so much.....not that they were close, but west coast offense?!

Browns and west coast offense will be like a bad hair cut on an ugly person......makes a forked up situation worse!

IMO Colt McCoy will become a nuisance that will make every game against them harder than it needs to be. He is a good QB and I think over the years he will cause us more problems than Flacco.

:Agree

He doesn't have the tangibles that Flacco has, but is a winner by temperment and I don't think he will be intimidated. His presence in their locker room helps them.

From what I'm hearing out of Browns camp, McCoy doesn't look that special. He has been spotty with his accuracy and doesn't seem to be gaining a good grasp of the offense. I will agree that the guy does make some plays but overall I question his longevity as the starter in C-town! I have a feeling that the Browns are going to have a rough start to the season. They are thin at DB and DL. They are probably going to be starting a few rookies on their D overall and they have limited playmakers on offense. Hillis is a solid RB, but if teams can key on him then I don't see him having the same type of season he had last year. I can't really see anymore than 4-6 wins for the Browns this season and that is with a pretty soft schedule.

Almost half the games we played them have been 1 score games. I never said they were beating us, just that they do tend to give us more of a fight than you would expect.
