With so little time for free agency this year, do you think the Steelers front office will make an exception and negotiate contracts during the season?

The Steelers typically sign players with 1 year left on their contract. But this year hasn't provided them the necessary time to negotiate the contracts leaving certain players at risk of hitting free agency.

It would make sense for Troy and Timmons plus any renegotiations that would free up the money they need to make that happen.

I was thinking about that the other day. I certainly hope they do.

There's no shame in adjusting to the circumstances you are forced to operate within. They would be dumb not to make the necessary changes to secure the future of the team.

They'll have a month-and-a-half to extend player contracts before the regular season starts. That should be plenty of time to work out deals that they want to.
