The only real insight we have to what the Steelers might be thinking is who they bring in for visits.

I based my mock off of those players only, and looked at the positions they brought in the most as my go to positions for drafting....except for a K/P, because those guys don't get visits really.

And I projected a lot of trades just because I like to do that.

Trade 1.31 and 3.95 to Tenn for 2.39, 3.77, and 5.142
Trade 3.77 to New Orleans for 3.88 and 4.121
Trade 4.121 and 5.162 to Detroit for 4.107

2.39) Ras-I Dowling, CB, Virginia
2.63) James Carpenter, OT, Alabama
3.88) Kenrick Ellis, NT, Hampton
4.107) Austin Pettis, WR, Boise St.
4.128) Cortez Allen, CB, Citadel
5.142) Alex Henery, K/P, Nebraska
6.196) Da'rel Scott, RB, Maryland
7.234) Jarriel King, OT, S. Carolina

I like the additional picks cause we could use em. And I like many of the players on your list. I feel like this board is generating some consensus on the quality of certain players which is scaring me a bit. That usually means Colbert has a Trai Essex up his sleeve rated as first round talent.

And we'll all be left wondering WTF?

Seriously I do hope we pick up some extra picks in rounds 2-4 and the more the better. Those rounds are loaded with talent we could use.

I been saying all along, that what we need, (OL, DB) lies in round 2-4 (deep draft at those postions)

I real like your draft. I have had something like that posted somewhere on here.

thanks for the props guys.

Here is a bit of a breakdown on how the trades work out overall as far as positioning and values on the trade value chart.

Down 8 picks in the 1st (-90 pts)
Even in the 2nd
Up 7 picks in the 3rd (+30 pts)
Add a bonus early/mid 4th (+80 pts)
Even in the 4th
Up 20 in the 5th (+8.8 pts)
Even in the 6th
Even in the 7th

1 draft pick overall added (+28.8 pts overall)

Not bad sir. I see you selected a player in each round that visted the steelers. One thing, that has never happened in any steelers draft. And as for Ellis, I have seen a few Mocks that have him falling into round 3. But all of them have him falling no further then the first 5 to 7 picks in round 3. So I don't think he would last til 88. If the Steelers like him, and want him, they may have to select him in round 2. Also, a name to remember. I read somewhere where the Steelers interviewed Clemson Tackle Chris Hairston at the combines, and liked him alot. But have not talked to him since. One might think they have decided to draft him, and are trying to keep their interest under the radar. So keep an eye on him.

Yeah, the purpose of this draft was to use only visiting players, because that is really the only info we have on the thoughts of the FO.

As for Ellis, Walterfootball still has him falling to Carolina's comp pick in the third. This third rounder I have listed is also not our true 3rd...it is a few picks higher. I think with the background of Ellis he still falls.
