Steelers WR Brown Bursts on the Scene

Filed at 6:42 p.m. EST

PITTSBURGH (AP) The first time Antonio Brown officially touched the football as an NFL player, he took it 89 yards for a touchdown.

Knowing that, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he made arguably the biggest play in his first playoff game.

Brown burst onto the national scene Saturday with a timely and creative 58-yard reception on 3rd and 19 that set up the Steelers' winning touchdown vs. the Ravens. He beat his defender with speed down the sideline, and hauled in a Ben Roethlisberger pass.

Then came the tricky part. He held on to it as veteran teammate Hines Ward said, between "the Steelers emblem (on his helmet) and his right hand."

Brown is not a familiar name in part because he wasn't even active for seven of Pittsburgh's first 11 games but he is quickly making a name for himself, as the Steelers (13-4) prepare for the New York Jets (13-5).

Never thought of it that way (between the Steeler emblem and his hand)!

I'd also forgotten the 89 yd TD. Here it is, better for a boost than a 5 hour energy drink!!

Here's a few more of our new "Tonio"!

Dennis Dixon, no less!

Here's the big catch in question from this past week:

Here's a young Brown, before he joined the Beatles :P !

What can Brown do for you!!!!!

It is interesting that it was was Byron "Bryant" Leftwich throwing to Antonio in that last pre-draft video.

I also love that Antonio's man was the corner who provided the most cushion (all the way back to midfield) and Brown still blew right by him anyway.

Its great that he's getting all this attention while we are preparing. Cause he won't be part of the gameplan at all this week...barring another desperation heave late in the game.
I guess he'll be returning punts but not much offensive. They should let him come in a run a few go routes in front of their CBs just to tire them out.
